here you go...
A lighthouse has a circular floor plan, 20 feet in diameter. On the outside wall of the lighthouse is fixed a hook. A leash is tied to the hook, with a dog at the other end. The leash is 10 pi feet (that is to say, a tad more than 31.4159265358 9793238462 6433832795 0288419716 9399375105 8209749445 9230781640 6286208998 6280348253 4211706798 feet) long. Assuming the dog cannot enter the lighthouse, and the surface he can travel is flat and unobstructed, what area can he cover?

gee bp, I will continue to work on that one, but I think he could cover about 1549 square feet in an area on the opposite side (from the lighthouse) of a tangent line with the hook.

and about 293 square feet on the other side...

I guess 1842 ft sq +/- 10 feet

Hey lyra! I called the lady back today. SHe still couldn't tell me anything other than she passed my message on. I got a bit upset with her, and ended our conversation very abruptly. About an hour later, she called me back with a date and a time for them to come "look" at my tub. So, at least that's progress!

Bit, cloudy off and on, but we are living in a basement apt. now. I'm totally aware that the lack of light is a bit of the problem. We've been getting out for a walk ea. day or to run errands or whatever and that helps sometimes (like on the days when it isn't cloudy out there).

Maple, we watched Robin Hood and Lilo and Stitch. Now she wants to watch Little Mermaid, but I told her it was time to turn off the tube and play. Right now, LOL, no kidding . . . I can hear her in her playroom telling her baby that she is in time out!

Believe it or not, my doc actually prescribed trips to a tanning salon for me during the winter. I dunno if y'all have those in MT, but you might want to consider it if it's an option.

Bit, we just got tanning booths here last month! LOL! I actually did do that late in the winter last yr. I kinda' think tanning beds are like cigs. for the skin, but it does help some. We even have egressed (sp?) windows, but it's still not quite enough light.

Some animal's livers are toxic. Polar bear and malamute are for sure. Most carnivore livers should be avoided.

Bit, no amount of onions, ketchup, etc. helps liver taste any better. And fresh, I'm talkin' straight out the carcass buddy. It is still vile.
