I've been skulking and lurking and even once in a while posting. Who else from the "golden years" is still round? Lips? Hikerboy? mel? strider? Ped, I know you still hang out. Same goes for GoJo and Sarabelle. Latuer and Sasha? I know some of you are a least lurking!!!

Sarabelle, I would really like some updates on your trail/ummm tail adventures.

Addendum: I'm really gettin old.

Hi Pamster where have you been ?
Mel hasn't been on here in ages. Lips checked in not to long ago.
Gojo and Sarabelle are still around here somewhere. Not sure about Ped and Strider. Latuer and Sasha must be before my time ;) Since I'm just a kid here.

Pam, I ask that myself from time to time. For some I guess the luster has just worn off and to others this is sounding board for their mindless dibble. I'm waiting for a day when the 'I found a penny' thread appears.

I still make it a habit to check in about once aday here. I may not chime in, just looking for something interesting threads. I have been hangin at other forums unrelated to BP that spark other interests of mine. Your a granny check out Naked Neddle Point at Yahoo it's a hoot.

Hey Pamster!!! I still lurk every few weeks or so.. Like today. I went on a hike the first part of Feb with the old PNW gang up in Washington State in the Olympic Natl Forest.

Attendees from the old gang were Strider, Hiker Boy, Nomadster, Meekat, SARBoy and Trailartist, Old Timer, Tecky, and Alpine. There were several others but I am not too sure what would "qualify" as an old timer. LOL

Gotta tell you the hiking out west is awesome, but there will always be a VERY special place in my heart for the east.

If you ever find yourself out this way, you always have a place to stay.....

Tell Tight Wad howdy from me!

BTW,,, Keeter Dog is still hanging around too.

Hey Freedom
This is Sol. Hope all is well in Sacramento. It's cold and wet in your old stomping grounds. I for one will be glad when this winter is over. Can you send me your e-mail address? Also, I'd like to touch bases with Nomad, Merkat, SARboy, Old Timer, etc. Do you have their e-mail addresses? Write me at radams5451@aol.com.

Hey Pam,
How are things with you and TWB...
Yeah, it's been quite awhile since I saw y'all last. Recently bought a house, and have spent alot of time here, but I plan for that to change.
Please keep in touch, because backpacking season is upon us, and I plan on doing alot of canoeing with sasha marie...she also has a new brother simon aka nipper, nip, pissy paws, spedly spazmo, the list is endless, he's too funny, not as good of a trail dog due to his propensity to bolt after squirrel's.
Let's hook up...

I'm definitely an old timer and proud of it. I camped with Mel last summer and she is doing OK. I doubt she lurks here much, but I believe a lot of old timers do lurk and post occasionally.

Things are going well except too busy. About mid April I am expecting things to settle down.

Wow, I haven't lurked in forever, and here's an invitation to chime in. Freedom, you don't consider me an "old timer?" Not that I mind; nice to feel young and fresh. But I'm happy to report that the Olympic hike had the best food EVER for a "hiking trip." Mmmmm....steamed mussels........

Can't do the 8th, but I saw the post and recommend Big Basin SP; the Berry Creek Falls loop is fantastic!!! No puppies allowed, and for that the Caribou Wilderness isn't a bad place, but I haven't explored it much. Maybe Freedom could help more...?

I'm getting old.

And Latour! DUDE! Lana and I talked about you for months after Mt. Rogers. Glad to see you are still here too.

Tommy.... Hi Tommy!

And yes... Gentle Ben and let's not forget Idiot Bob!

You folks made 1999 one of my best years of my life. I really enjoyed meeting everyone and seeing so many special hiking spots.

Solitary... I am still at c.braun@prodigy.net
Are you coming out this way again this summer?

2 weeks ago there was a Sr. Mgr spot in Columbia, and this week the same but only for Greenville. It isn't time to leave California just yet. I am going back to college this fall so I will hang until I complete the degree. The idea of transferring schools just isn't appealing. Going to stick it out until I walk.

Hey Phil... I will be flying into Ontario this coming weekend. I am not sure of my schedule, but maybe... just maybe...I can get away and say howdy to you and the Mrs!

Free23... I saw the thread and would love to come play... but I will be in Southern Cali. Major Bummer too, because I finally scored some snowshoes at the REI Winter Clearance Sale. I hope you all have an AWESOME time. I really would love to meet up with the local Sacramento hikers. I think we are more strong than we know. Could be around 10 or so... more if you count Vacaville & Fairfield.

Saw Dunk on the Camp 4 thread, sp he's still around. Makes me mention that I was in Camp 4 (Yosemite) on Presidents day and got to finally meet the infamous "Chonga". He's quiet a character.

Happy Hiking to all y'all!

I've been here three years now but don't post much anymore. I was hoping to see more of the old timers post. Let's keep this thread on top so the infrequent lurkers can jump in.

It's good to see that people are still hanging around even if you aren't posting much. :o)

Hello Pam
It's fun to do the once-in-a-blumoon drop to TT in and find someone else who remembers those early days. It's interesting how many geezerz & wheezers a thread like this draws out of the woodwork. Thanks for starting the thread, Pam.

Freedom and Tommy, my better half and I are planning a road trip to Cali to visit the kids in LA, mid April. I'll email you details. Maybe we can make a dinner date work. We will be overnighting in N Cali on 11 Apr, maybe around Sac if we can drive that far the first day. We can sit around and talk about how much we suffered in February....

Phil, it would be fun to see you too while we're in the area. The kids still live in Fullerton, and we'll be in the area from Apr 12 thru the 16th or so. If there are other TT'ers in close proximity, perhaps there's a possiblilty of doing a group gathering at some local eatery? It would be fun to meet a few more of the crazies. What do you think? I'll check in on TT a bit more the next week or two, or you can drop me mail at strider@silverlink.net.

Salutations from the wilds of the PNW,

I'm still here but don't post too much (see mindless dribble). Generally I only check out the west coast threads and more specifically, California. I keep pretty busy now that I have 3 day weekends. I'm out skiing or hiking every weekend and quite often both. The last two weekends I hit the slopes for 2 days than drove down to Yosemite for some hiking and photography.

Freedom, how are Nomad, Meerkat and Old Timer? I did a couple hikes with Old Timer last year but haven't heard a peep from Nomad & Meerkat in over 2 years.

Hi, all you oldtimer farts. Nice to see so many at least still lurk. That's about all I do anymore.

What's new with me? Well, I've been working with my squirrel to get this new product off the ground.

Freedom, great to hear Miss Keeter is still with us!

om and ghost, hopefully I'll be seeing you two next month. Ghost's hair isn't blue but it is prolific;-)

And fyi, I'm not going to be "granny" It will be either the Italian, Nonna or the Aluiet, Eema. My hair isn't quite blue enough for granny:0) May is going to be here very quickly!

Originator of "Pamster's Pickers" has returned
Hello Pamster, et al...

Yes it's true, Nomad has returned!

I don't lurk much on this site anymore, but heard the call for this thread was out, ...or perhaps it was just those voices in my head. 8o)

Beth, err Meerkat, told me we should post a message and say hello. Funny thing is, I don't call her by her trailname much anymore. Now it's "yes dear", "okay dear", "whatever you say dear". ;o)

We still manage to see several of the west coast folks from time to time and even get out on trail. This year is even looking good for early entry into the highlands with low snow fall in the west. Got to get out there before that deadly mosquito makes it to Oregon, ya know!

Tis nice to see some of the old familiar folks logging on to say hello. If any of you want to exchange emails, I can be found at: mark@bound4nature.com

I don't suspect that email addy to be changing any time soon.

I'll let Beth logon and tell her own tales.

If any of you are ever out this way, give us a holler!

Take care all!

Hello Nomad and Dunk!!
This thread is beginning to bring back some very good memories. Hope you guys are doing well. Dunk are you still living in Santa Rosa?
>
Nomad, I still have my sage branch purifier thing. One of the ones you made for all of us back at Llama-Rama-Ding-Dong 1999. I'm saving it for a PNW trip. Let me know the date. Tell Merkat hello and best regards.
>
Guys do me a favor,if you see Old Timer tell him I'm looking for a trip this year late in the Summer. Cali, Oregon, or Washington is fine with me. I'd like to find out what he has plans for.

Now if Creekjumper, Cork, tehepite, SARboy, trailartist, Nigal, hobbit, Mel, Idiot Bob, and Gentle Ben will just drift in. Man it would be like old times!!! Pamster you should start a thread like this more often!!

Phil, The Naviguesser, Hikin' Mike and I spent the night at Mel's... before a trip to Dingleberry Lake back in October. We had a great visit!

She said it too long to load Trail Talk on her computer and had kind of given up on it... til she gets a new computer.

solitary, when you hook up with Old Timer, make sure he sends me e-mail about the trip. If you'se guys play in WA or even the northern half of OR, I would like the opportunity to try fitting the stroll in to the schedule.

Nomad, you old (and I do mean Old) slacker you. I'm amazed to see that you actually remembered how to use a browser! Perhaps there's some fresh entertainment to be wrung out of the TT page, if we can figure out how to navigate the 'mindless dribble' (as Dunk so graciously characterized things). speaking of...

Dunk, nice to 'see' you chipping in. We never met, but I always enjoyed your sharp wit and insight. Are you in the Sacramento area? My wife and I will probably be spending an overnight there during a road trip to SoCal in mid April. Hope to see Freedom and Tommy while we're passing thru. It would be fun to meet you if you're in the area and not out on a trail someplace.

Tommy, you think the mussels were good? Come up in the summer some time and I'll brew up a pot of freshwater alpine stream-clam chowder.... son, you Haven't Lived until you've had my chowder! I'll even let you do the harvesting, it's way fun!!!

I guess you could call me an "old timer"... and I admit, I lurk a little h9ither and yon... but, sad to say, I've grown tired and bored with most of what gets posted here (it's largely juvenile rantings from juvenile minds), with the occasional exception of those who actually stick to the THEME of the site to begin with.

Ah, but I digress...

I see old friends here now and then... but most in here, now, have NO idea who I am... nor do they care.

Ah, but for the old days, the old timers, the old posts.
