Not positive but I thought someone mentioned the CCC campsite on the Grundy dayloop. I won't be there till Sat morning.

That's where I'll be, assuming I go. My neck is still a little stiff, but I am still optimistic.

Hey bit, you will be fine. I bet once you get out in the woods you will forget all about your neck.

That's what I'm hoping, Ewker. I think I will be fine though.

My status changes yet again!
My biz trip got moved back a couple of days so I will see some of you guys late Friday night at the CCC camp and the rest of you layabouts Sat. ;)
I called the Park Office about permits and the guy said get then at the trailhead.
He also said the gate to the park is locked at 10 PM, so those staying at the CCC camp Friday night need to get into the park before 10.
Woo Hoo!!!!!

Just got off the phone with my brother, and he will be coming too! My neck feels good enough that I can say that I will be there.

I may need to bum the use of a water filter from one of you guys.
Haven't found where my sweetwater gravity filter is hiding yet.
Last time I KNOW I had it was tied to a tree in the sipsey wilderness by my tent. ;)
Oh well, there's always iodine tabs.

I have an extra Pur Hiker, SS. I'll try and remember to bring it.

Bit or SS, I will have my filter plus I will be bringing the water bag so all we need is one filter to stay in the water bag.

I'll see y'all friday at the CCC camp. I HOPE to be there by 1:00 P.M. I'm picking up a new Gregory G first thing in the morning & linking up with a friend to drive down. What time can we expect to see you Saturday arrivals? SS & BP, glad it worked out.
Cheers

If I can get to the trail head before 6:00PM ET, I would like to try for Ravens Point Friday night. Only 4.5 miles, then meet ya'll at the trail intersection at Ravens Point. I figure ya'll should be there around 1:00PM-2:00PM ET?

We'll probably be at the CCC camp around 5:00PM CST. Not planning on going any further than that Friday.

Thanks guys.
bit - thanks, I'll use Ewker's if I can't find mine (still have hope, don't think I left it in the Sipsey. It's got to be in my messy house somewhere)

I'll carry in enought water for Friday night and day use Monday.

Ewker, I'll take you up on your kind offer to share for Sat night.

What time Friday?
Don't know. Mapsonus puts the mileage at 470 miles for me.
If I get started on the road by 10 AM I SHOULD get into the CCC camp before 10PM. What time does it get dark up there? About 6:30?
I'll be lucky to make it before dark. If I miss the gate locking at 10 PM I'll get a motel room in monteagle and see ya'll Sat morning.
Are the Sat morning people setting up the shuttle?
StoveStomper

6:30 is about right, SS.

I'm bringing my Windstar instead of the truck now, so I can shuttle more people and their gear. If we do the shuttle Friday evening, there may be no need to worry about it Saturday morning.

Dear posters to backpacker.com forums:

Tired of nitpicking arguments over which stove is better, or lamenting over your lost lip balm? Want to actually do some backpacking?

There's hope! Post over on Trail Talk at thebackpacker.com, where they actually go on backpacking trips instead of just talking about it! It's a big world out there past your monitor, you should see it!

Thank you.

bit - stir the pot, hee hee.

Binks - you slacker, if I can drive 470 miles one way for this hike, you should make it to your own backyard.

I am going to be in town this weekend, so would like to meet you guys and do a bit of hiking. Am working late Friday (11pm) so will have to opt to see you guys on the trail on Saturday. Hope to make it early enough, but if not, will catch up eventually.
