Now everybody wants in on the act...
Whoops, this wasn't supposed to be under the 'trips' banner...sorry about that...

Bitter after being snubbed for membership in the "Axis of Evil",
Libya, China and Syria today announced that they had formed
the "Axis of Just as Evil", which they said would be more evil than
that stupid Iran-Iraq-North Korea axis President Bush warned of
in his State of the Union address.

Axis of Evil members, however, immediately dismissed the new
Axis as having, for starters, a really dumb name.

"Right. They are just as evil . . . in their dreams!" declared North
Korean leader Kim Jong-il. "Everybody knows we're the best
evils. Best at being evil. We're the best."

Diplomats from Syria denied they were jealous over being
excluded, although they conceded they did ask if they could join
the Axis of Evil.

"They told us it was full," said Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

"An axis can't have more than three countries", explained Iraqi
President Saddam Hussein. "This is not my rule, it's tradition. In
World War II you had Germany, Italy, and Japan in the evil Axis.
So, you can only have three, and a secret handshake. "Ours is
wickedly cool."

International reaction to Bush's Axis of Evil declaration was swift,
as within minutes, France surrendered. Elsewhere, peer-
conscious nations rushed to gain triumvirate status in what has
become a game of geopolitical chairs.

Cuba, Sudan and Serbia announced that they had formed the
"Axis of Somewhat Evil", forcing Somalia to join with Uganda and
Myanmar in the "Axis of Occasionally Evil", while Bulgaria,
Indonesia and Russia established the "Axis of Not So Much Evil
Really as Just Generally Disagreeable".

With the criteria suddenly expanded and all the desirable clubs
filling up, Sierra Leone, El Salvador, and Rwanda applied to be
called the "Axis of Countries That Aren't the Worst But Certainly
Won't Be Asked to Host the Olympics".

Canada, Mexico and Australia formed the "Axis of Nations That
Are Actually Quite Nice But Secretly Have Some Nasty Thoughts
About America", while Scotland, New Zealand and Spain
established the "Axis of Countries That Want Sheep to Wear
Lipstick".

"That's not a threat, really, just something we like to do", said
Scottish Executive First Minister Jack McConnell.

While wondering if the other nations of the world weren't
perhaps making fun of him, a cautious Bush granted approval
for most axes, although he rejected the establishment of the
"Axis of Countries Whose Names End in 'Guay", accusing one of
its members of filing a false application. Officials from Paraguay,
Uruguay, and Chadguay denied the charges.

Israel, meanwhile, insisted it didn't want to join any axis, but
privately world leaders said that's only because no one asked
them.

Ha, ha, very funny. Who e-mailed that to you...Rush Limbaugh? I mean really, we all know this war is for oil nothing else.

Ice Tea, why do you write one sentence in the bold subject line and then nothing in the actual post? Do you feel that you need to be bigger then others, maybe you have a superiority complex. Typical republican, trying to scream out and project your beliefs on every one else.

Take note all-
Left wing extreamist try to make republicans look like there views are out of touch with the commen american. Yet when you look at the last election we all know who the country favors.

Kelty, don't speak for a group, speak for your self. "we all know the war is for oil".

Uhm, NO! See we are going to war because:

A) Saddam is a Madman
B) Saddam is a mad man who has gassed 1/2 million of his own people, just to test his wepons.
C) Saddam is mad man, that allowed and Alquada operative to be treated in a hospital in Bagdad
D) Saddam is a mad man that is in constant persuit to build nuclear weapons.
E) Saddam is a mad man that supplys/ supports terrorism
F) Saddam is a mad man that is in constant persuit to make more and more biological/chemical wepons.
G) He is a mad man with an Army, and weapons of mass distruction under his comand. He has killed his own people, he uses his civilians as body guards for his solders and he has killed his own son.

Ice Tea:

1) Generalizations are evidence of ignorance.
2) If you are so angry and intolerant at this point in your young life, you're going to burn out very quickly.

Take a deep breath and Let It Go.

It'll eat away at you from the inside if you don't. And it really isn't worth it.

Saddam Hussein is Bush's version of Jacobo Arbenz...

W's only been able to fool half of the people with the story that bombing the crap out of Iraq is somehow for humane reasons. The rest of us know that W's goal is to set up a leader that will play ball (i.e., share profits) with Exxon, Mobil, etc.

I wonder how many of W's supporters know that:

1) Saddam was installed with US aid.

2) His problems really only started after he nationalized Iraq's oil fields (i.e., Bush's family and other oil-based oligarchies don't make as much on the sale of Iraqi oil as they do on the sale of privately-held oil, a la Saudi Arabia).

3) 80 percent of Iraq's populace is Shia Muslim, meaning that holding true free elections in Iraq would yield a government much like the one now in Iran - Axis of Evil all over again.

4) In 1991, when the people revolted against Saddam in the wake of his defeat, the American forces sat idly by and did NOTHING to help the insurrection (even though Bush Sr. had publicly called on the Iraqi people to oust Saddam). In fact, the revolution was quelled with the help of American forces who rounded up weapons that would've been used by the revolting public. This is because the 1991-Bush administration feared having Iraq ruled by a leader chosen by the majority of Shia Iraq.

None of these facts are up for debate. A good book to read on the subject is "Out of the Ashes: The Resurrection of Saddam Hussein" by
Andrew and Patrick Cockburn.

Is Saddam a monster? - sure. Is W? The Arabs will certainly think so when this is over.

1) SO? this does not matter one bit. did we give him VX? did we give him those missles he's destroying? how bout his migs? scuds? he buys stuff from whoever will sell it to him. if i buy a knife at walmart and stab someone it's not walmarts fault. faulty logic.

2) What problems? this is so weak. and you call it fact. i'm so sick of people saying this is about oil. if it was, we'd have taken it in 91. hell, we'de roll in and take it today if we wanted that. with worldwide scrutiny, there is nobody greedy enough to do something that stupid. rich people don't get rich from being stupid....poor logic.

3) ok, so we shouldn't liberate these people cause they aren't smart enough to live under freedom? they are too evil to be free? what? i don't get it....they said the russians wouldn't be able to handle freedom. they said japan wouldn't. they said germans couldn't handle it...in all cases it's been tried, it's suceeded. why do you think you're so smart that you know if a nation of people can govern themselves or not? typical liberal bass akwards thinking and...poor logic.

4) bush sr didn't support the insurrection, in large part to the fact that he feared the kurds turning on turkey. it's one of the reasons turkey recently denied us to use their soil as a staging ground for an attack on iraq, because of their fear that the kurds would turn on turkey, once they were out from under hussein's thumb. we didn't support it like we should have, but to say we "sqwelched" it is rediculous.

What evidence is there of this? I know the U.S. aided Iraq in the Iran-Iraq wars, but Saddam was already in power. So how did the U.S. directly install Saddam to power?
