Alright all you Indiana hikers,
I convinced a friend of mine to try and do the entire knobstone in a single try. All 53 miles worth. I have some friends that attempted it last year and managed 36 hours, it's my goal to beat it. Any of you out there done this? Any sugesstions from any marathon runners? My friend is trying to convince me to run it as a double marathon. Any tips?

Don't count on any predictions from the weatherman.

Crazy Mike can tell you about it. That's his stomping grounds.

Its definetly do-able! Last year we did 28miles 12 hrs. We all got hit hard with a rainstorm on that one. We crushed that trail..

There was a older fella who was trail running right on past us..

Its a good hike!

hMm.. well me and mike, and mike, and sb did the northern section.. and it was kindof a killer.. and from what I have heard, and saw.. the southern section is longer/steeper.

but hey.. life is too short. go for it. I have heard that u can plan on at least 24hrs.. and 36 hours sounds very reasonable.. non-stop??.. as in no sleep??

yea, we're going to try for no sleep, but all that changes when you're actually out there. The guys who did it in 36 hours were all carrying equipment and ended up sleeping a few hours after starting to halucinate.
