By-pass was a plus
What about that cabin guy? Was that not worth the by-pass we took or what? What was that, 6 or 7 miles in? Better than taking a dive in Hurricane either way huh? Had a blast!

Hawcreek to Fairview
This was the fifth time I did this section, and every time is a treat. Mozark and I decided we would take the high water route being that we had "been there before", It was well worth it too. We hiked with Bob and Donna, (Husband and wife; great couple), We went to see the most fantastic cabin I have ever seen! It had to be from the 1800's, but so well furnished I would love to live there. The trip from there was uneventful. We camped at "THE RITZ" (My name for it) It's about 1.8 miles beyond the second Hurricaine crossing. From there it was a workout. The boulder garden was the best. The fact that there was a contolled burn in that area took away from the view, but still worth hiking. We went down from there and the scene got better with each step. Then came the 2 miles to Fairview!!!!!!!!! What a nasty, hateful, painful, lovely climb. There you go Strat.

Been away from the computer!
BkerPaul,

Yes it was a good hike and the cabin was spectacular in the middle of nowhere!

Are you interested in doing a section of the Ouachita this coming weekend? If so and you want details email me at mconner@varco.com. There will be a few OHTers on this trip also.

Hey Stratdewd how's it going?
