“Blix Sees Iraqi Cooperation, Six-Foot-Tall Rabbit
(2003-03-06) -- Chief United Nations weapons inspector Hans Blix said today that in addition to seeing more Iraqi cooperation in the inspection process, he has also seen a six-foot-tall rabbit standing near Saddam Hussein.

"Protocol forbids me from asking Mr. Hussein directly about the rabbit," said Mr. Blix. "But it's clearly there--right by the president's side. Sometimes it whispers in his ear, then chuckles quietly."

Mr. Blix, who went to Iraq to monitor its mandated disarmament, has decided instead to monitor how 'hopeful' he feels that Iraq might allow him to search for weapons of mass destruction.

"This is much more interesting than my assigned task," he said. "Who wants to sit around all day watching men destroy dangerous weapons?"”
