This is really TOO much!
What's with the friggin' pop-up ads, Matt? I'm trying to read a thread and all of a sudden, PLOP!, right in the middle of the page there appears an ad, bouncing all over the damn page, offering me a million frequent flyer miles. Just tell 'em to give 'em to me and stay outta my face!!! This is really annoying!

If it's a javascript thing, and you've got javascript turned off, then you won't see it.

Haven't seen it on here, but I do get it on some other sites.

Any tips for the techno-challenged on "ad stopper?"

Norton internet security comes with a good pop-up blocker.

There are a few free ones available at download.com.

FYI, this ad is not a pop-up ad. It is an Eyeblaster ad for anyone who is interested. You should only see it once per day, and it will only be running for the next three Mondays. If you see it more than that, please tell me.

Just tell the ungrateful bastards to shut up or pony up. As yet, you haven't asked me for one red cent.
Thank you, Matt. You do what you must to maintain this site.

Saw it twice today, already.

If it keeps the site paid up, though, I can ignore it.

I see flying suitcases more than once. Is this a sci-fi thriller or what?

I bet it figures out how many times it's run by storing a cookie on your machine somewhere. If you have cookies turned off, I bet will show more than once.

But WTFDIK.

Do you close your browser everytime, and if so, do you have your browser set to clear all your temporary internet files every time you exit?

Hi Lyndy. Have a cinnamon toast and cup of coffee.

Got onto the A-Trail for a short walk on Saturday coming back from the Trees' place with Cynthia. The snow was not too bad for a short walk. Lake Lenape was iced over and somebody managed to walk across it without falling in, based on the footprints. Every black lab in the universe showed up to sniff us warily and go on.

It sure looked a lot different than it did last summer!
Geobeet

Apparently not...not sure what would cause a cookie to disappear like that if you didn't have your browser set to discard them on exit. I looked for a setting like that and couldn't find one. Oh, are you using Internet Exploder or Nutscrape, Geo?

hmmmm....interesting. It could be that they are creating a temporary cookie, one that expires when you close the browser, and for some reason, I've got my browser set up to keep them, and you don't...

Geobeet

OK, I tried closing my browser again, and I refreshed TT until it showed up. Apparently they are creating a temp cookie that expires when you close you browser. Just don't close your browser, Geo! I never close mine unless I absolutely have to.
