A Boy and His Dog = Great buddy movie! Classic!

Lizs - Did you hear that they are making a 4th Mad Max? Filming was called off (they were filming in India of all places) because of tensions in the region. I have seen all of those movies at least 50 time a piece. My Dad and I bought a 72 Mustang to recreate Max's car...hehe....I cried in RR and my Dad thought it was because they shot the dog and I said "No, they blew up the car"...hehe.

Blade Runner is another great one.

How about "Kentucky Fried Movie"? Anyone up for Cathloic school girls gone bad? Maybe the Enter the Dragon parady?

Being John Malcovich is one of the recent ones that I've enjoyed. I don't get out too the movies that much unless it's something that must be seen on the big screen. "Confession of a Dangerous Mind" looks very interesting. I am a big "Gong Show" fan.

"I Love You to Death" - Kevin Kline, River Phoenix, Tracy Ulman, Keanu Reeves. My favorite comedy.

Good ones, Bit. Bogie was awesome. I also liked 'To Have and Have Not' and 'Dark Passage'

I've only seen bits and pieces of "To Have and Have Not", so I couldn't count that one. "The Big Sleep" is another one of my faves as well, but I didn't want anyone to think that I'm some sort of Bogart nut. Even if I am.

It was a good one. Walter Brennan was real funny in it...

Other Bogart movies I have seen:

The Petrified Forest
The Treasure of the Sierra Madre
High Sierra
The Caine Mutiny
Across The Pacific
Sahara

But I'm no Bogart nut, no...

Treasure... was incredible. What a great flick. Hat's off to the Huston's...

I know. Watching the "sand" blow away was heartbreaking...great flick.

Bit of trivia here, supposedly during the filming of The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, Bogart was suffering from alopecia (loss of all body hair) and had to wear a wig.

How about the movie with Audrey Hepburn, where she was blind and had the creepy guy/intruder in her apartment?? What was the name of that?

Laqtis... so when were they starting to film the fouth Mad Max?? Now me, I had to watch certain scenes in sloooooooo motion... like where they got run down in "Mad Max" and also when the boomerang cut off the guys fingers in "Road Warrior." LOL... it's fun to watch those fingers getting sliced off, one by one. (hey, I just have a curious mind!!)

Try the scene in 'Scannere' where one guy makes the other's head blow up, in slow motion. I wore the tape out on that spot...

lizs - I believe the story was that they were already filming, but stopped. We were watching E! one night and the info came accross the "ticker" on the bottom of the screen. If they finish, it hope it's better than Thunderdome. You can really tell the point in the movies when the Producer died in that accident. Sinker roony!

Oh yeah, Zulu is a great movie. Michael Caine's first big role. My wife was disgusted when she found out that Henry Hook won a VC though, lol... They portray him in such a bad light in that movie.

Anyone seen "Amelie" (spelling?)

French subtitles, but a great , great flick, The Monster is another great French flick.

I recommend checking out some foreign films. American movies have become so blaaah and predictable these days.

If you're looking for an American movie. Go down the shelves and look at some of the ones that only have one or two copies. A lot of times they're better than the ones that have a hundred copies, just not what "sells"

I love a good movie, but they're few and far between these days. Happy hunting!!

yeah, I think they used a bit of artistic licence in that portrayal of him. The Rourke's Drift story is a great one. I've seen that movie about twenty times I think

Bettie Blue is also a great French film - if only for a naked Beatrice Dalle - bit of a chick flick in other respects though. Not sure French movies will be too popular at the moment though

Supposedly, if you look closely enough, you can see that some of the Zulu extras have on the watches that they were paid with.

I haven't seen it that many times, but I do own a crappy VHS copy of it. I should get it on DVD, hmmm.....

High Fidelity (great Cusack movie (mentioned by Tarabull) great scenes with the record collection

Almost Famous . . .Kate Hudson. We really liked this.

Wolfman . . ."I love you to death" . . .based on a true story. (Is that the one with the Italian or greek plumber (kevin Kline)(landlord?) who was poking lots women and his wife (tracy ulman) hired William hurt and keanu reeves to kill him?

If I am on the right wavelength . ..it was based on a true story.

anyone ever see the movie "Pass it Forward" It is about a kid who does a good deed and tells that person he has to do 3 good deeds and they pass it forward to the next and so on. I may have the name of the movie screwed up. It had Helen Hunt, Kevin Spacey and the kid from Sixth Sense in it.

Tilt, Once Upon a time in the West is probably my favorite western.
