I saw pay it forward. Thought it was an awsome movie. Made you think too. It's normally not my kind a movie (need to see guts and need to have action and all that good stuff), but pay it forward was really really good.

Anyone remember "Zardoz" with a very hairy Sean Connery?

oh oh!! I usually hate John Travolta, but recommend these movies to anyone:

Phenomenon

Michael (plus, opening parts of Michael were filmed in the country near Anamosa/Stone City, Iowa... Grant Wood country)

I LOOOOOOOOVED both these movies! Are there any other good ones by him out there?? Just him as a Joe Blow human being and not a cop or creep like in Pulp Fiction (I liked that, am looking for another type movie here)

The best movie of all-time is Harold and Maude. Ruth Gordon turns me on.

...and the LOTR movies are 'bout 10 times more enjoyable then the books. Tolkien was a great, and boring, author. I think Terry Brooks, who is entirely derivative of Tolkien, tells a more exciting story.

Treebait, I've seen Zardoz... trippy movie (at least when I was a kid)

Harold and Maude is a favorite of mine!

Pay it Forward could have been a great movie, but the dumb asses had to kill off the kid in the end. I was so pissed at such an arbitrary ending that I will never watch it again. The same thing with the Kevin Coster flick "Message in a Bottle" (I think that was it). Great movie, all the way up to the point where they had him die. stupid stupid stupid.

I love Zulu. have watched it at least 20 times to, but I always think of it as Rourke's Drift and forget that it is called Zulu. The big myth of this story is that the outpost was attacked by the same group that wiped out the entire army the day before. it was actually a smaller tribe that arrived late for the party so they attacked Rourke's Drift instead.

I can't believe none of you losers agree that Braveheart is the greatest movie ever filmed.

oh yeah, and Excaliber was a damn fine flick too.

Lizs
Travolta was in a really great flick called 'Primary Colors.' He played (what is definitely supposed to be) Bill Clinton and Billy Bob Thornton was James Carville. It is a super movie and Travolta really shows himself to be a fine actor. Kathy Bates is also in it. I recommend it wholeheartedly...

Thanks, treebeard, for the suggestion. Will have to look into that one.

Hyway -- and we always love the people who give the ends of movies away. grrrrrrrrrrrr. Just say IT WAS A VERY DISAPPOINTING ENDING and let it go at that. sheesh! lol

I don't want anyone to ever seen either of those movies again. I want them to bomb so that producers and directors won't ever end a damn fine movie like that again. It is my quest.

I think that "Pay it Forward" not only ruled, but the ending is what made the movie make sense.

it's not enough to care about people and be a good person but YOU HAVE TO DO IT NOW because there is no guaranteed tomorrow

best movie of recent days...
The Banger Sisters
Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood
Y Tu Mama Tambien
My Big Fat Greek Wedding

I seem to like less and less the stupid mundane movies that Hollywood churns out. I want movies that I can relate to and that leave my thinking about life, love and friendships. Bruce Willis sucks...Bond Sucks...Arnold sucks...These movies are just rehash garbage.

you all really put up some great movies...I'm glad for the opportunity to add my recent watches to the list.

It's a Brit flick from the late '80's, I think. Very bizarre.
Especially the guy who thinks he's a statue, ans waggles his winky at one point.
