ramforces = credit card scam?View MessagesViewing posts 1 to 13 of 13 messages posted.
Mabe you can help out..... “Odd thing. My wife was checking our account the other day and found a purchase for "ramforces". It was made this past Saturday and was for 99.95. Thinking it was gear related, she asked if I had bought something. I didn't and today we called the bank. My card was used. So I call the company after doing a web search on them and I got an old phone answering machine. The last part of the message was..."and if you are calling about a purchase reflected on your statement that you do not recongnise, take it up with your credit card company".....which leads me to believe that this has happend before. So I emailed and requested that someone call me. Now the wierd part, during the websearchs, one of the links I came accross was to a message board on the "www.palestineremembered.com" messageboard. The message was in response a post. he message is as follows --- " I'm from Saliha family and i would like to know about you please just email me.I'm living now in Romania and I'm civil engineer you can also find me in my site www.ramforces.com. thank you. " this was posted by a khalid saliha. Here's a link to the message board - http://www.palestineremembered.com/Safad/Saliha/MessageBoard330.html WTF do yo uthink happened here? Could I have been ripped off for the jihad?” 11:47:21 AM 3/13/03 “Hope Ashcroft doesn't come after you thinking you are supplying money to terrorists” 11:50:45 AM 3/13/03 “if he comes a knockin, I'll gladly tellem what I know. I ain't getting scammed for the Jihad, #&%!$ing donation isn't even tax deductible... sorry, bad joke.. anyway, I'm about 2 hours away from called the #&%!$ing Feds. I'M REAL PISSED!” 11:53:06 AM 3/13/03 “Sounds a little fishy. Try this: FTC Consumer Complaint Form. You might also contact the FBI. I don't think you'd be overreacting.” 11:56:05 AM 3/13/03 “Seriously, Laq. I hope you get it straightened out. No matter what the circumstances, credit card fraud is really really imposing and annoying. Maple and I found a charge on Amex for 500 dollars for a mail order purchase to Toys 'R' Us in Wisconsin. Morons had it sent to some address in the Bronx and signed for it. Amex pressed charges, I beleive, but we never were able to find out the outcome.” 12:00:00 PM 3/13/03 “Did you check out www.ramforces.com? $99.95 is what they charge for "Delta Memory Force". Could the have the huevos to charge $100 for a Trojan?” 12:09:53 PM 3/13/03 “That's interesting!” 12:16:57 PM 3/13/03 “I thought that too, Violin, BTW - Thank you very much for the form. I'm going to wait a second or two ntil I fill it out. I'm waiting to hear from my bank. TB - My sister got ripped to 1,500 last weekend from some online company that she used to find an apartment in LA. She was PIIIISSSEEDDD, to say the least. Any other info that anyone might have about these putzs would be great. Now the troubling problem, how in the #&%!$ did they get my number? I just put in to service a router with firewall and I run zone alarm on the 'puter we use to pay our bills with. No hacks detected. I do use my card a lt as it's a debit card. I have usd it 'round here at gas stations and party stores...they are arab owned..I hope none of those guys ganked it. Maybe someone got it from me using my cordless phone. I used it once to try and order something from sierria trading post a couple of weeks ago. Interesting....” 12:26:26 PM 3/13/03 “Laq, my guess was that when we bought the kids their holiday presents, the numbers may have been stolen by a cashier, salesperson or whatnot. Not sure, but the time frame coincided. All they need arfe the #'s in order to use it in this fashion...” 12:40:37 PM 3/13/03 “Ya know... it is possible that somone else stole your number to order a something from ramforce.com and ramforce is a victim too.” 12:59:08 PM 3/13/03 “That could be, but something smells bad here. So far, they have made no effot in helping. There order form requires the ordering person to fill out fields. Also, I did not see a secure indication on there order form. It's obvious that they have had some problem before, but why not: Say something on there site Say something on there message Return my phone call Return my email this does not sound like a legit company/situation. And what about the message board thing I found?” 1:11:46 PM 3/13/03 I'm so glad I stumbled on this! “This same thing happened to me on 3/8. A charge for 99.95 on my AMEX from Ramforces for onlie download of software of Delta Memory Force. They had my account #, name & address. I just reported it to the FTC.” 8:48:36 AM 5/01/03 “wow - this is interesting! I will make sure to check my credit card very carefully.” 9:42:34 AM 5/01/03
