Looking for ward to spring
Having never done a trip report I'm hoping this will do. I took a trek on the lbl loop and found the trip very enjoyable. The trees are still too bare. The land looks almost naked, but it was wonderful to be outside. I can't believe how out of shape I am. I must work on that. Having grown up in San Diego, Calf. I really do love the changing of the seasons. No wonder I married a woodsey. He would have loved the snow this year.

Don't be afraid of the snow and cold weather. Winter can be one of the best time to hike if you're prepared for it. Enjoy the spring!

Sorry I took so long to answer
Well walkindude, I started at the trailhead on the senic drive and walked the shorter loops. My friend and I enjoyed the the trek.
I think I will take a longer loop next time, but I think that the short one was a good place to start. My new boots did just fine.

Mile 1 - why am I doing this to myself?
mile 2 - EWWWW! I forgot how badly I can stink.
mile 3 - owch! They missed a lot of these thorny vines.
mile 4 - I stink, my calves are sore and scrathed up, now Im chaffing and then I realise... IM grinning from ear to ear!

What a long strange trip it was :}

Yeah, I love that loop. It's a most enjoyable walk. The whole thing is only about 14 miles so it can easily be done in one day.
I want to go and walk those loops on the Southern end. Have you done any of them?

No dude I have not, but if they are anything like the others the walking would be wonderful. I love the water and I saw that the flowers were blooming. I'm a sap for flowers.

Canal Loops
Yam, the Canal Loops are at the North end of Land Between the Lakes. The North station has some Pretty good Maps.
