Cleverly hidden in the Injured Reserve thread is a note from Geezr that he fixed up some of his personal gear (inside his chest, of all places!) in an effort to be able to hike faster and more efficiently. Here's to a speedy recovery, dude!

Martyb thanks for point this out.

Geezr. Fast and speedy recovery! I know a few other people who have had similar "personal gear fixin'." Understand it's rough.

My best to you.

PS, if Weezr doesn't make you clean the tub do you still have to clean the toilet? :-)

WTF!!!!

I am really surprised to hear this. I thought you were in great shape when I met you at Montanapalooza.

Good luck, and a speedy recovery for you.

I talked to Geezr on the phone yesterday and he seems to be doing fine, except for the impending boredom associated with recovery. It sounds like he'll be ready for the summer backpacking season though!

get well soon, Geezr! we'll do lunch at Pug's- maybe order a big, greasy porkchop sandwich!

How'e the snow in Billings this morning?

Looks like most of the roads around the state (WY) are closed right now.

Don't do it, geezr! It's 34 and raining anyway. I think Marty should volunteer to carry some of your pack weight this summer!

Aero, Weezr suggested a llama, but in a pinch I suppose Martyb will do.

I can spit better than most llamas!

Welcome, Geezr. If it were me, I think I'd go for the goats. They can carry a higher % of their body weight and they don't spit.

And, I hear they just kind of follow you up the trail.

Chief, sounds like the same attributes that Martyb brings to the table. ;-)

Really????

I also read where you don't have to bring food in for them and you don't have to keep them tied up, they just hang out around camp and graze on whatevers there.

Is this true about marty too?

That's basically true, Chief. I always encourage my hiking partners to bring extra food with them so I can "just hang out around camp and graze on whatevers there."

We met a goat guy when we came out of the Winds a few years ago at Green River Lakes. He was the author of a book on using goats in the back country. They sound like a good idea if you need help carrying, but for personal back packing I'm thinking myself is enough. He was heading in for a couple months on some sheep monitoring contract, planned to be up in the high country for quite some time.

With all this talk about goats, maybe we should rename Geezr "Old Goat."

Wishing you a speedy recovery, Geezr !!

At least the snow will keep you from attempting the garden work, for a while yet.

Get lots of rest, eh. Ya gotta heal up first, so don't be over doin' it. I'm sure Weezr will keep you in check ;-)

I'll be looking forward to seeing you both this summer
