April 19th we are playing our first show in about 15 years! It will be in my home town of Murbreesboro, TN.
We plan to play mostly origional songs and throw in a few cover tunes.
Also our Official CD's should be ready by then too. We plan to have then there for sale.
It will be by invitation only so if anyone want's to come than let me know and I'll send you an invitation. It will be free to get in but we ask people to make a donation that will go to some kinda Lung Disease thing.I can tell ya more about it later. Also any $$ from CD sales will go to that as well.
We'll play from 7:00 till ?. The first part of the show will be just us but we hope the last half will just kind of turn into a jam session with other musician friends.

I'll have more info later. We just got the date settled last night.

I'll know more about our show in a few days. We got the place and date.

We just got the commitment from our old lead guitar player last night. That means I'll be playing bass some of the time and guitar part of the time. We'll be playing some old rock cover tunes and a bunch of our own origional songs. We don't have a steady drummer but we got several people that can help so we ain't worried. The drum, and bass parts for the tricky songs are sequenced into a keyboard anyway so it's better that way. We know we can depend on the Korg.
I just bought a new guitar last weekend. It kicks Ass!!
We do have a few "special" tunes (hehehe) ready to trip people out. It's not going to be planned to death to keep it fun. We just gonna Rock!

Cool. I especially like the part about dontating the proceeds to 'some lung disease' group. If you haven't already made up your mind, you might consider the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Well, the reason behind the Lung disease thing is because One of the guys in the band is needing a new set of lungs and is on a list to get a new set. We just hope he can wait to get hooked up AFTER the show.

walkindude... Remember how I told you I might be coming to TN and KY for work? Well I spoke to the client this week and they have tentatively picked the 21-25 as the week they need me. If that's the case, I'd be flying (or driving) to Nashville on the 18th or 19th. If I come, I am sooooooo gonna see your show! (How close are you to Nashville?)

Bill got the call Thursday morning about his new lungs. Surgery was Thursday night from around 6:00 and they finished about midnight. I was at the hospital for several hours with other friends & family. He came around about noon yesterday and was off the machine and breathing on his own. We got to see his briefly last night. He's in pretty good spirits and doing good, all things considering. They should have him in a room in a couple of days. He'll have to be in the hospital for about 10 - 14 days then he moves into an apartment for about 3 months that's within 10 mins. of the hospital.
He told his wife "Damn, this is going to screw up the show." She was in shock. LOL!!!!

So when he is totally recovered then we will have a celebration show. I'll keep yall posted.

As far as the Donor, He was a young man about 22 that had killed himself. He was an organ donor and his heart and pancreas was also used for other people.
It's a shame a young man killed himself but I'm glad some of his parts were able to help others.

In light of all of this I filled out the back of my Drivers liscense for my guts to be used if something should happen to me.

Glad to hear about your friend doing well, Walkindude. And wonderful that you made the decision to become an organ donor. I'm one too. My little brother has sight thanks to organ donation.

I figured I wouldn't need the stuff anyway if I'm dead. Plus I'm in good health and shape. If some of my parts could help someone get a second go and reach their goals and dreams in life then that's a good thing!

If anyone out there has not signed off to be an organ donor than it's a great thing to consider. It only takes a few seconds to sign the back of you Drivers Liscens.

Good news about your bandmate - I hope he and the band come through with flying colors.

I just thought of another answer to the "why do you back pack" question:

"I signed an organ donor card, I gotta responsibility to keep dem organs in shape for the next guy."

But, I'm really glad you're friend is doing good. That seems like some pretty hard-core surgery, eh?

P.S. I am an organ and tissue donor. They can have every last piece of me when I go.

walkindude, good news about your bandmate. A show to celebrate his recovery will be a lot of fun.

Since it was a last minute kinda trip, didn't get a chance to get in touch before me and the missus made a run down to Nashville for a couple days. We even dropped over to Murfreesboro last Saturday night to the Red Rose Cafe & Bistro to hear some alt.c&w/rockabilly. The downside of the trip was the car crapping out in Clarkesville ($600+ counting the rental car ); the upside -- which you will certainly appreciate considering your link at the top -- was stopping at a music store on the way home and falling in love with a pink paisley Telecaster. Went back to the place yesterday and made it ours.

Rock on, dude!

pink paisley Telecaster????
Dude, that's nasty!!

The Red Rose was where we were going to be playing! As a matter of fact, Bill used to own it.

walkindude, the Tele was a special import from Fender Japan last year and this is one of the last of the lot. Still available if you order from Japan (and pay fees, duties, etc.) where it apparently is still a current model -- a re-issue of James Burton's 1969 tele for the Japanese market; traditional hardware and setup, maple neck and fretboard; the paisley is on silver foil under the top finish, so it really gets sparkly under a light. And the pink is about the shade of Barbie's accessories, lol. Finish and quality on par or better than US Fenders, but less $$$ in this case. Plays very nice.

Some sore fingertips at the moment. Been away from my guitar playing for some time, but a bit of regular practice and I'll be ready for the TT band. It'd be quite a scene to face off with that blood red B.C.Rich ax.

But Dude, A Pink Tele?!?!

Here is my two main guitars
B C Rich Mockingbird

B C Rich Bich

A actually brought This one home but I found out pretty quick again why I hate tremalo bars. I took it back and got the Mockingbird instead.
I the past I have had several other B C Rich guitars.

Eagle guitar
Assassin Guitar

Eagle Bass
Ironbird Bass
Warlock Bass

I love the sound and look of B C Rich guitars. They got the best Heavy Metal sound I've ever heard. They are not the best for clean sound but that don't happen much with me though.
The Basses ROAR!

Fender makes great stuff but I'm not a single coil pick up kinda guy. My playing style don't work on a fender. Ya gotta play a Fender different than any other guitar. I got a friend that only plays a strat and he can't play with my sound. I like to hit a note and get a mile of sustain.

Hey, I'm an old hippie who can remember flower power and all that, including things like paisley nehru jackets, lol. This guitar would look great on the cover of Sgt. Pepper.

Honest, this Tele is something you have to see to appreciate. There is a web page out there that a guy in England, I think, has for his pink paisley Tele. I don't know how to post hot links, but I'll see if I can find the address for a peak.

I was pretty much a hard rocker verging on metalhead in the early days of the genre -- still a big Zep fan, liked Deep Purple, and was a Black Sabbath devotee for the first couple albums, but if I have a choice for pure headbanging these days, it goes to AC/DC loud and proud. I love to put on the lads on the jukebox when a bar is deep into country tunes.

On the other hand, I like a very broad spectrum of music, and have always liked the sound of a Tele, especially as a rhythm guitar. Maybe the pink paisley takes me back to psychedelic country rock favorites like the Flying Burrito Brothers.
