no chili, once again, as I said, and provided evidence of, I want the intent of the laws as written by the founders to be fulfilled. But I do appreciate you giving everybody your comedic interpretation of what I am thinking. It's cute in its silliness.

I have to admit....I doubt anyone here can comprehend what you are thinking.

Many, many people in the South felt just as you do when the Segregation laws were striken. Fortunately, they, like you, didn't get it their way.

This is a real life lesson for me.

Never have a battle of intelect with an unarmed person.

Feel as you will...in the mean time the SC will rightfully continue to interpret th Constitution and, no matter how much that chaps your ass, it won't change.

So anyways...back to the issue of the radical revolutionaries in this current administration and their intent to shut down freedom of the press and freedom of speech. They are trying to fundalmentally transform this nation. Declaring war on media outlets that disagree with them, suggesting huge fines for outlets that don't fit their radical notions of fairness, using taxpayer money to fund their propaganda through the NEA, taking government controll of the internet....they are revolutionaries and will stop at nothing to get their way.

Take a stand for your country.

Jefferson said a free press is the only security, and is neccesary to keep the waters pure.

Washington said the freedom of speech may be taken away and dumb and blind we will be led to the slaughter...

Wake up people, your ideaolgy is blinding you to what's going on. Your petty bickering is distracting you from the end game...total control of you by a tyrannical government. You are being enslaved and you don't even know it

You don't agree, chilidawg? DO you know who the FCC diversity czar Mark Lloyd is? Surely you've heard his Glowing account of the Chavez "incredible revolution" and how he achieved it by taking over the media in Venezuela. Are you aware of Obama's connections with Free Press and their radical views about the way to destroy the free market system by controlling the media? Did NPR tell you about the recent NEA scandal, and play the recording of the White House talking to "artist" and instructing them to push the presidents agendas, all at taxpayer expence? I mean I'm not making this stuff up. You know me better than that. Look up Mark Lloyd on you tube and hear his own words for yourself and then tell me about black helicopters.

It's like this, my friend....What if I'm right? I understand that you believe the liberal point of view. I can respect that. But I don't believe you would tolerate true corruption from them if you knew it was hurting the country. But the thing is, you have to be willing to ask the tough questions and accept the answers when they are staring you in the face. The truth is out there, but you have to look for it. NPR won't tell you.

What do you believe in? Does corruption bother you? Don't say "Bush did it too". That's not an honest answer. He's gone. What if Obama's corrupt? Do you have any problem with that?

If you disagree with what I've said here, say so and I will provide evidence to back up my alligations.

"Slavery is seen in the Constitution in a few key places.

The first is in the Enumeration Clause, where representatives are apportioned. Each state is given a number of representatives based on its population - in that population, slaves, called "other persons," are counted as three-fifths of a whole person. This compromise was hard-fought, with Northerners wishing that slaves, legally property, but uncounted, much as mules and horses are uncounted. Southerners, however, well aware of the high proportion of slaves to the total population in their states, wanted them counted as whole persons despite their legal status. The three-fifths number was a ratio used by the Congress in contemporary legislation and was agreed upon with little debate.

In Article 1, Section 9, Congress is limited, expressly, from prohibiting the "Importation" of slaves, before 1808. The slave trade was a bone of contention for many, with some who supported slavery abhorring the slave trade. The 1808 date, a compromise of 20 years, allowed the slave trade to continue, but placed a date-certain on its survival. Congress eventually passed a law outlawing the slave trade that became effective on January 1, 1808.

The Fugitive Slave Clause is the last mention. In it, a problem that slave states had with extradition of escaped slaves was resolved. The laws of one state, the clause says, cannot excuse a person from "Service or Labour" in another state. The clause expressly requires that the state in which an escapee is found deliver the slave to the state he escaped from "on Claim of the Party."

Then, on top of that, the 13th and 14th Amendments were enacted in the 1860's and it wasn't until the 1960's that the Supreme Court intepreted them to abolish segregation.

180 years of delay ( to enact the "founders intention", combined with another 100 years to figure out just what we meant with the 13th Amendment? And now we want to claim that it was always the intent to do away with it? Sorry folks, I am not drinking that Kool Aid.

I love the argument that "the founding fathers intended to abolish slavery from the get go". I hear a lot of rhetoric, but see little action. I think some of them felt it would go away in due course, however, little was done at the time the Constitution was written to do away with it. Conversely, there were provision written in to deal with it.

There were anti slavery sentiments in the North at the time the Constitution was written. However, the Southern states (dependent upon slaves for economic reasons) weren't about to abolish it when they framed the document.

Our founders did a tremedous job in drafting the Constitution.

I am guessing that the "intent" on the right to keep and bear arms was that every man, woman and child could carry a weapon wherever and whenver they wanted to. I equally believe the "founding fathers" wouldn't have believed that to be so prudent if they could have envisioned today's society.

What did they intend for women? Equal rights? They didn't cover that very well either.

To say "this is what the founding father intended and therefore, this is exaclty the way it should be today" fails when you look at a broader picture than a single issue.

However, the question is moot. The Supreme Court has, and will continue to, interpret the Constitution based upon changes in society and how the "original intent" lends itself to current application.

Man: I see. That is perfectly reasonable and not bat#&%!$ at all.

Man: That's beacuse they're communists too. They hate America.

Sarge: Thank you! I said the same thing! Say... you wouldn't happen to be a constitutional scholar, would you?

Man: Why yes, in fact!

Sarge: I thought so. Hey, what do you think about the separation of church and state?

Man: Unconstitutional. Here, look at my degree from the US Constitution University of Constitutional Studies
