“The Repugnican Guard is the outfit that is supposed to be tough. They executed a pretty good bug-out maneuver in 91, except for the guys who died before they could get out of their tanks. The front line troops probably saw their officers bug out days ago.

Violin is correct that the best units are being pulled back into Bag-it-dad and that is where the most fighting will undoubtedly take place. Supposedly they have political officers at the rear ready to shoot any retreating troops. The question is how long the political officers will stick around when the shooting starts.

Unquestionably, we will take casualties. But probably not the blood bath some predict. We will know as they get close to Bag-it-dad.

The operation may not start tonight. It is possible, as CNN suggested, they will let the Iraqis stare at the sky awhile. Maybe wait til the new moon. Maybe not.

In our desire to know everything, let's not lose sight of the fact that keeping the enemy guessing is in the best interest of our troops. I'd rather not know everything than see our people killed because somebody tipped their hand to the Iraqis.”
