I just hiked 5.58 miles and my feet are sore. They feel like they've been rubbed raw in the 'hot spots.' Stoopid thorlo socks.

Or am I just a wimp?

Not wearing liners, biz? You need them for Thorlos...

I'm thinking of giving Smartwool a chance myself. I always get a hot spot, even after taping, in liners and Thorlos.

go for the Dhalgren (sp?), not the Smartwool, I find them far far better. The smartwools wore out on my heel pretty quickly and have limited wicking in my experience.

Is there an online outlet for those, ynami? I doubt if I'll find them in Huntspatch, Alabammy....

My Feet were Mugged
Sore feet are no joke. Last summer I ended hiking 20 miles of the Wonderland Trail in Tevas and wool sox due to sore feet.

My feet were pummeled, bruised and battered. It was probably the fact that my feet had swollen with age, the boots had shrunk some due to improper drying and thin sox.

I soaked my feet in cold water every night after we got off the trail. The Tevas worked well in a pinch, so to speak.

For sox I like Merino wool from Campmor ($6-7).
