Remember the 1991 War?

This time we have had to listen to the cowards crow about how They were against the War, but that We look bad because the troops didn't kill Sadam with a Cruise missle.

There is no We in this War. The American Armed Services are an all volunteer force. The Liberals don't volunteer. The are not We. The Marines, Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen are still They to these folks.

When a young soldier makes a mistake and friendly fire happens, and it will, we will be back to they.”

“I saw a news report on CNN today that Red Cross had reported 14 injured and 1 dead in one of the explosions in Baghdad. I'm not, obviously, going to sit next to the TV and watch this played out like an entertainment event for drunken Romans, keeping careful score. I'm just saying, that any life lost is a hard event in the life of that person's family and friends. What if that person killed has a child? Try on some compassion for size Hyway, how do you think that child feels tonight?”

“Ultra, I didn't say anything about MY child. I'm talking hypothetically about Iraqi children, in an effort to get you to try and look at this from another (forgotten) perspective. And obviously Osama and Saddam, et al. do not care of children or live in general, I am not arguing the case for them. I am arguing the case for listening to one's soul. That place deep in you that feels heavy when you see this crap on TV, when you participate in Packy-poo's little game of name calling over such an awful event, when you consider how it feels to be the wife of one of our men on the "frontline," etc. I'm talking about something way beyond where you are headed. I'm not having a discussion about politics and good vs. evil men, I'm talking participating in being a human being w/ a full range of emotions . . .one of them being compassion. An emotion that could allow many people to move beyond petty "eye for an eye and we can be blind together" and into a peaceful live.”

I stopped over at a friend's house and he and a bunch were playing cards. I asked if they'd turned on the TV lately, and with a "No!" I told them were bombing the heck out of Iraq. They turned on the tube and, needless to say, they never finished their card game.”
