“I, along with Ice, will be meeting up with Chuck D at the visitor center on Friday evening (december 26) I drive a purple Rav4 with missouri plates. I'll be the cool looking dude (like Clint Eastwood, only better looking) with a hat with an Indian bead hat band. I expect that we will be there till 5pm (approx when Chuck D will arrive). then we will toss a coin and let the fates decide which trail we will do first.

So...the answer to your question is yes...there is room on the hiking portion.

as an FYI...there is also room on the canoeing portion. Reservations are set for the shuttle and the canoe (ice). If you or anyone is interested in canoeing the Rio on NYE...let me know NOW!!! so that I can get to you the outfitter # to make your reservation.

ONE week...7 days from NOW!!!! I will be sitting on a TH cooking up a pork loin and watching shooting stars and a wild sunset...not necessarily in that order, and thinking of all of YOU!!!

Ice got a better deal on the canoe rental, so I decided to use only one outfitter. the canoe shuttle fee is the same as what Jan was going to charge...oh yeah...

I received a call from Dutch Oven Dave, he might just join us on the canoe trip...can you say "food fest"??? hahahaha not only would there be MY food that is all lined up, but Dave would add his own immitable food creations to the mix...Ice...you better be HUBGRY!!!”

“NOT!!! I got 2 30 packs of Coors, a bottle of Absolute, but forgot the coffee...priorities!!! Man o man...the meal menus is like something out of Emerils kitchen...hehehe...The only meal that will be eatin out will be on tuesday evening as Ice are heading back to the outfitters after the hiking is complete. With food like I got planned, who needs a resturant, but, we;ll hit up La Kiva (Chili's reccomendation) and take a break from cooking...plus, we;ll get back to the outfitters and clean up and transition to canoe gear and then head directly to the put in at Rio Grand Village...and slide into the water and drift to the Mexican side and camp out in MEXICO!!!! (outfitter recommendations) this trip will ROCK even more now...”

I didn't do that one year, and the power was out when I got to Study Butte. Although hanging out on the porch drinking beer didn't hurt my feeling, I did waste a couple hours waiting on the power to come back on.”
