No thanks, bacpac. I don't care to play your game.” 5:22:54 PM 3/22/03 “A great come back from the right would be that Forrest can't see the trees through wood. Did I say that correctly?” 5:28:50 PM 3/22/03 Sorry Phaedy “I don't know much about the homo code. I guess if I lost my job as a US military person because I was a fag, I would hate them too. But I didn't so I still support America.” 5:37:30 PM 3/22/03 “bacpac's write phaaeedy!!!1 all you need to do isOPEN yur eyes and youll see that this war is just and klinton was a hippy fool. Q: Rush, how do I convince people of the mortal threat Saddam Hussein presents, and of the need to prosecute the War on Terror into Iraq? A: The best way to persuade someone is to lay the facts out and let them come to the right conclusion on their own. Many people are too afraid, uninformed or mired in America hate and Vietnam-think to face the horrifying prospect of a mushroom cloud over their city. They think we can appease or avoid those who set out to kill 50,000 innocents on 9/11. They're blind to Saddam's links to Al-Qaeda, or the danger he'll slip WMDs to them in the future. They cling to the fiction that we can appease or avoid "going to war," when this war came to us. Help liberate them from these misconceptions with the news items provided below. Note that most of this content comes from liberals and the news sources they trust. Use that to your advantage!” 5:42:16 PM 3/22/03 “"If I had to choose between putting a saloon or a liberal church on a corner, I'd choose the saloon every time. People who drink up the pay check in the saloon are less likely to become Pharisees, thinking that they don't need the Great Physician, than those who weekly swill the soporific doctrine of man's goodness." -- Jay Edward Adams” 5:45:43 PM 3/22/03 “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is it's natural manure. - Jefferson” 5:51:48 PM 3/22/03 “Manifest plainness Embrace simplicity Reduce selfishness Have few desires. --Lao-tzu (604 BC - 531 BC)” 5:52:27 PM 3/22/03 “"When we got organized as a country and we wrote a fairly radical Constitution with a radical Bill of Rights, giving radical amount of individual freedom to Americans ..." "And so a lot of people say there's too much personal freedom. When personal freedom's being abused, you have to move to limit it. That's what we did in the announcement I made last weekend on the public housing projects, about how we're going to have weapon sweeps and more things like that to try to make people safer in their communities." - President Bill Clinton, 3-22-94, MTV's "Enough is Enough"” 5:52:43 PM 3/22/03 “Pacifist are the parasites of freedom.” 6:10:26 PM 3/22/03 “MTV - SOCIALIST ACTION NETWORK - Working to perfect the ultimate police state.” 6:13:03 PM 3/22/03 “"In Dr. Johnson's famous dictionary, "patriotism" is defined as the last resort of the scoundrel. With all due respect to an enlightened but inferior lexicographer, I beg to submit that it is the first." -- Ambrose Bierce” 6:55:08 PM 3/22/03 “3/22/03 MOSCOW, Russia (Reuters) -- Russia vowed on Saturday to block any future moves by the United States and its allies to secure U.N. approval for the military action in Iraq and the post-war power structures they might set up there. "Attempts will undoubtedly be made in the U.N. Security Council to find ways which would help legitimise the military operations and the post-war (political) set-up in Iraq," Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov told a conference outside Moscow. "We will follow this very carefully and we will not, of course, give legitimacy to this action in the Security Council," he said. Russia, which has big economic and oil interests in Iraq, aligned itself with France and China in opposing U.S.-led military action to topple Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein and disarm Iraq of banned weapons that Washington says it is holding. All three powers as permanent members of the Security Council have the right of veto. Ivanov, speaking later to journalists, echoed President Vladimir Putin's call on Thursday for an immediate halt to the U.S. and British offensive. "I don't think Iraq needs a democracy brought on the wings of Tomahawk (missiles)," Ivanov said. "Iraq is a wise nation and the Iraqis can build their future themselves. Therefore Russia once again calls for a halt to the war and a return to political attempts to find a solution," he said. Bush immediately called for the renaming of "Russian Dressing" and "French Dressing". Proposals floated were "Libery Dressing" and "Freedom Dressing."” 8:02:24 PM 3/22/03 Pecker “I have been with 6-43 ADA, 6-52 ADA, 4-43 ADA, WSMR Material Test Command, 6th BDE ADA, 3-321 C Battery, and now they have me recruiting for the Active Army.” 8:06:35 PM 3/22/03 “Why does the news keep calling the tent bombing in Kuwait--'Terrorism'? I thought I saw a war on T.V.” 9:17:39 PM 3/22/03 “From CNN: Army soldier held in Kuwait attack Two grenades tossed into tents at 101st Airborne base NBC NEWS AND NEWS SERVICES KUWAIT CITY, March 22 — The Army said a U.S. soldier is being detained as a suspect in a grenade attack at a Kuwait base housing members of the 101st Airborne Division. Thirteen soldiers were wounded, six seriously, when two grenades were tossed into a commanding officer’s tent and one next to it, NBC News Corespondent Dana Lewis reported. Military officers told Lewis none of the injuries were life-threatening.” 9:29:25 PM 3/22/03 “"We are going to have peace even if we have to fight for it." Dwight D. Eisenhower "I have never advocated war except as a means of peace." Ulysses S. Grant” 9:52:29 PM 3/22/03 Dare “I thank you for your continuing service to our country.” 10:01:13 PM 3/22/03 “The avalanche has started, It is too late for the pebbles to vote. Lets talk about the future of the mideast instead. Perhaps some of you might pontificate on the power struggle that will ensue once we depose saddam. Points like how we are going to ensure that a worse tyrant doesnt take saddams place would be interesting. For a bit of historical referance consider WW1 where we got rid of (Wilhelm?) and watched while a far worse dictator took his place democraticlly voted in by the german people. There is hardly a country bordering Iraq that doesnt have a claim against Iraqi lands and turkey is already menuvering against the kurds. In a way Im glad that the brits are being considered to administrate Iraq after the war, They have a lot of experiance managing distant lands from their imperialistic days. Lets not forget to discuss the future of terrorism either. Considering that once again we are interfering in mid-east affairs it is fairly certain the fanatical elements of that area will only hate us more then ever. It is an almost foregone conclusion that there will be more terror attacks on the US and of course more security will be required to deal with the problem as well.” 3:14:07 AM 3/23/03 “One soldier died in that grenade attack. 1 to 4 grenades were tossed into 2 tents, and shots were fired into one of them. An American soldier, a Muslim convert has been arrested. Apparently he had been reprimanded earlier in the week.” 3:17:55 AM 3/23/03 “DOM we all hope for the best possible outcome, but you are right, the envisioned or predicted outcome of war made by politicians is never the same as what the reality becomes. The outcome of a war is never known or understood until decades after the war has ended.” 7:50:36 AM 3/23/03 “People claiming that there is some nefarious connection between Saddam Hussein and Al-Qaeda are merely displaying their own ignorance of even the most basic politics of the Middle East. Even George II hasn't come right out and said that there is a direct link between Hussein and 9/11, because his own people at the CIA have stated that they have not been able to find a connection. Thus, George II has had to resort to implication and innuendo to justify his sacking of Iraq, something he and his overlords (read: Cheney, Exxon, Mobil, etc.) have wanted to do for years, long before 9/11. Here are a few facts: Saddam is Suni, Al-Qaeda is Shiite. If you don't understand the difference between these two sects of Islam, then you won't understand anything about the Middle East. Iraq is 80 % Shiite (like Iran). A TRULY democratic election in Iraq can mean only one thing - another Shiite government in the Middle East (in case you missed the first sentence in this paragraph, Iraq's current government is Suni). The only other Shiite government is Iran (the Taliban was also Shiite, but they're no longer in control, thank God). Iran, if you'll remember, is part of George II's "Axis of Evil." There is NO WAY that George II is genuine when he says that he wants a democratic government in Iraq, because he knows that the people of Iraq would vote for yet another Shiite Islamic State, given the chance. George I knew this as well - that's why American forces disarmed the rebellion in Iraq following Gulf War I, and allowed the Republican Guard free rein in crushing the insurrection (source: A. Cockburn and P. Cockburn, "Out of the Ashes: the Ressurection of Saddam Hussein" - a very well referenced book). We'll see yet another puppet government that we'll have to prop up for decades at the cost of the American taxpayer while the Bush/Cheney oligarchies reap the rewards of their conquest. Meanwhile, back home, even hardworking middle-class taxpayers won't be able to afford health care, or even retire, for that matter. And another generation of recruits for Al-Qaeda are born. By the way, I don't consider myself a pacifist. Some of you on this board may remember me voicing my support for going into Afghanistan - I felt like we had no choice. Apparently, most of the world didn't have a problem with us taking out the Taliban as well. But now, George II has squandered all of the good will and support for the US that 9/11 generated, and has made the US an anathema the world over. I think it's ironic that Clinton can still travel to Europe and is welcomed like a returning hero, while even America's allies in this current "sacking" have quietly asked George II not to visit their countires, out of fear of the massive rioting that would ensue.” 12:38:12 PM 3/23/03 “I've seen the trees through the Forrest. You're right on. Sad that more can't expand a bit beyond the 'raw-raw gettem'.” 4:17:55 PM 3/23/03 “they found a huge chemical weapon facility. I wonder what all the other countries have to say now!!!!!! It proofs the US was right! I am sooo upset reading some of the german news. I am so ready to write them a letter, but holding myself back right now.” 7:11:51 PM 3/23/03 “They will probably say, "They're only making Aspirins there". I didn't hear/read that news yet...gotta go watch some news.” 9:04:13 PM 3/23/03 “It proves nothing Gemini. The "factory" has not been confirmed. Is this going to be a "end justifies the means" type of pro-war arguement?” 3:57:31 AM 3/24/03 “stanlee, I agree, they will find another excuse. Checking the german news stations I've read the last couple of days, whatever looks positive on the US is just blown off in a little article. I should've never read them like I have planned at first. Yes, it is not confirmed yet, but I don't doubt that it will be confirmed soon. I am not going to argue with anyone about this issue. We all have different opinions and it took me month to realize what I really felt about this situation. Now that we are at war we need to support the US and our troops. We have to stick together. Arguements among people in the US will just poor gasoline on a fire. Will just give all those other countries more fuel to write their stories. See things they want to see, but disregart things they should look at a little closer. Just like I said it took me a long time to realize. That's all I have to say to this. I am avoiding most of those threads for a reason.” 6:52:33 AM 3/24/03 “That's the Iraqi/terrorist method...divide and conquer.” 10:42:16 PM 3/24/03 “ ”5:26:31 AM 3/25/03 “Chemical weapons factory!!Chemical weapons factory!!Chemical weapons factory!! oops, false alarm, eh. Just like the forged documents of alleged Iraqi nuclear program.” 10:40:18 PM 3/25/03 “Read some history of late 30's Germany.Your attitude of ,"Now that it started we need to support.....",may change.” 11:46:18 PM 3/25/03 “Heard on the radio talkshow today...there's documents on the U.N website stating that Iraq have 17 tons of chemicals for weapons, unaccounted for.” 12:46:51 AM 3/26/03 “Alaska, I hope you feel REALLY, REALLY, REALLY bad when Americans come under chemical attack liberating Baghdad. Did you all see the report yesterday? Iraqis troops using a hospital to ambush U.S. Marines? They found 200 weapons, ammunition, 3,000 NEW chemical suits and gas masks, plus antidote injectors for nerve agent poisoning. The United States doesn't use chemical weapons on the battlefield. Why would the Iraqis feel the need to protect themselves from chemical weapons unless they know they are going to use them on our forces? If Saddam unleashes these weapons on coalition forces not only will he insure his own death but the reelection of G.W. Bush also. The latter, a nightmare scenerio for the left.” 8:42:39 AM 3/26/03 “Doesn’t “reelection” imply that he was elected the first time?” 8:47:04 AM 3/26/03 “The latter, a nightmare scenerio for the left. And the center.” 8:51:21 AM 3/26/03 “I just wish I knew where these 'facts' are coming from. I can't seem to find this stuff...” 8:53:44 AM 3/26/03 “Treebeard, the news about the hospital and chemical weapons suits was all over theTV and radio news last night.” 8:54:59 AM 3/26/03 “Hey! Guess who got the contract to clean up the oil fires in Iraq! Why, it's our VP's old company, Halliburton! Boy, am I surprised!” 10:45:37 AM 3/26/03 “IJ, I have to adamit that my attention span for the war news has been waning a lot and I have not been as up on news as in depth as I'd like to be. I have been preoccupying myself with other things for my own reasons. So, if I sound uninformed right now, then maybe I am...” 10:56:33 AM 3/26/03 “I definitely hope chemical weapons are not used against us, but I do hope some are found. If they're not, someone will have a lot of xplainin to do!” 11:34:42 AM 3/26/03 “The one thing about the rhetoric that lead up to the war that I find hypoctitical was that we were told that Hussein has all these weapons and the means that pose a clear and present danger to our security here on the mainland United States. The way I see it, in order for that to be true, you need the means to take those weapons and deliver them the required distance here in the U.S. So, even if those are found, I still have that particular bone to pick that this reasoning was used to 'pre-justify' (if you will) the invasion...” 12:04:13 PM 3/26/03 “I don't see Iraqi use of chemical weapons as insuring Bush's re-election. One argument made by a lot of people who were against launching the war at this time was that if Hussein had chemical weapons, he was very unlikely to use them except as an act of desperation in the face of an overwhelming invasion. I won't be surprised if Hussein has chemical or biological weapons. The big question is how much he has. I will want to look closely at the evidence... because I am sure someone will manufacture evidence if none is found - just as evidence got manufactured in the lead up to the war.” 12:14:26 PM 3/26/03 “"Hey! Guess who got the contract to clean up the oil fires in Iraq! Why, it's our VP's old company, Halliburton! Boy, am I surprised!" roseymonster 10:45:37 AM 03/26/03 WTF?!!! A corporation, that through hard work and diligence managed to climb to the top of it's field, was actually awarded a contract to do what they do?! OH MY FREAKIN' GOD! The next thing you know, the gubment will have a new Air Force One manufactured by, like, Boeing or something! Phone the neighbors! Wake the kids! This is HUGE! Thank you, rosey! thankythankythankythankythankythanky!” 12:31:17 PM 3/26/03 “A no bid contract to a company that is still paying roughly $1,000,000 a year to our VP doesn't look bad in front of the whole world?” 12:41:53 PM 3/26/03 “You know that if this can be portrayed as blood for oil, it will leave us isolated and hated. That can't be good for our security or help spread our form of government, can it?” 12:46:01 PM 3/26/03 “He doesn't see it that way, V. Save your breath...” 12:46:27 PM 3/26/03 “There's Gojo, asleep at the wheel again. Somebody wake him up!” 12:47:33 PM 3/26/03 “I would have thought it would be prudent for the VP and Haliburton to sever ties to get rid of the chance of corruption. At the very leash I think it's unethical for someone in such a position of power to retain ties to companies involved in huge government contracts.” 12:51:18 PM 3/26/03 “Halliburton could well be the most qualified company in the world but jeeze louis, open up the bidding to all qaulified companies. Don't just hand out plums to Republican donors. It appears sleazy and corrupt.” 12:53:09 PM 3/26/03 “ynamiynami - My understanding is that Cheney's pay is called deferred compensation.” 12:55:32 PM 3/26/03 “The whole Bush Administration makes me wanna PUKE!!!” 1:01:23 PM 3/26/03 Jump to Page << prev
