Sorry about your thread, Cynthia, but they're like children in a strange way. All you can really do is send them out into the world and hope for the best.

Then they come back with hairy butts.

Serious answers to Cynthia's questions
I know how you feel on the "wanting to get completely back to nature thing". I have given in to that feeling, but only when I was alone.

On "Hike Naked Day" on the AT. Never have participated, probably never will. But some women do. Go to Trail Journals and look in the 2002 journals for Trainwreck's journal. She hiked au naturel two years in a row on the Summer Solstice.

I followed Trainwreck's journal last year. She's a hoot and a good writer.

Can't say I would ever hike nekkid either.

I enjoyed her 2002 journal immensely.

I find myself reading the women's trail journals more because they tend to be more verbose. The guys' journals are usually "Walked to this shelter today. It was hot. Tired now." Not very interesting.

I love gettin nekkid on backpackin trip...
there was this one time, I hike 4 hours across the burning desert in Joshua Tree and climbed a huge mountain to watch the sunset, and the next thing I knew, all my clothes were off and the feeling was amazing! FREEDOM!!! The sunset was amazing and then the full moon (no jokes needed) came up on the opposite horizon, It was truely spritual. As most of the TTers that I've met know, I play native american flute and the music was especially magical that night.

After a bit, I donned my clothes and hiked down and out in the full light of the full moon, talk about mystical...I saw the faces of ancient medicine men, in the rock formations, smiling at me, benovently, letting me know, that I had done good.

That feeling has never left me...on to Death Valley next weekend...may that feeling never end, for me, or any of you.

I sometimes feel like that too after hiking all day.Too me it would make the body feel at ease even more then just takeing the pack off and such.

I might try it soon.

nope, never hiked nekkid, sorry. haven't been nekkid in public since i was 18 on blacks beach here in san diego. i was a lot younger and prettier back then and use to frequent the place quite regularly. however if i were on a solo and i came upon a wonderful place to skinny dip, i definetly would. being nekkid outside is a wonderful feeling.

I've hiked naked, I've sunbathed nakid, I've even danced by a bon fire nakid a time or two. I streaked nakid cross town once (it was a very small town), I streaked across a busy street on a dare in high school, I've mooned a few TT's, a train, and my husbands co-workers too.
