Thirty pairs, huh.

Dude, I think you are more than half way there. The hiking hair products would definitely put you over the top.

6 Casual styled shoes
2 work boots.
2 motorcycle boots

Hmm... that's not counting my 6-7 pairs of sandals or slippers. #&%!$.... I have a lot of shoes.

I have something simliar to your shoes, DX, but I have the Merril version.

I liked them, but I'm a little concerned about what would happen if the string broke while in use. I saw a pair that snapped at the REI garage sale alst time I was there. I guess you could just improvise, but I have put an extra pair of laces (or just use some of my bear bag string) in the pack.

I have the Salomon Tech Amphibs that have the same shoe string setup. It's supposedly a super high tenside strength kevlar string that is guarenteed never to break.

Theramrest chair kit. I picked it up on the way to Maine because the weather reports said we'd do a lot of sitting around in the lean-to while it was raining. 100% chance one night. It never rained :) but I like the chair.

MSR Miox Purifier. Got it for my birthday but maybe I shouldn't have put it here because just reading the directions I'm not sure it's for me and I might not have it long.

My camera came back from Canon yesterday. 6 days!!! including shipping time.

I just picked up the Gregory G pack from Campmoor. $109.27 on sale. The pack is on back order until Sept 10, but I should have it for my next trip.

Anyone else have this pack?

I looked real hard at one before getting the Mountainsmith Ghost. Capacity, weight, and $-wise, they are similar packs.

That's a good price.

I've had it for a couple of years now. It's a great pack. I would have rather had the large mesh pocket divided into smaller pockets since it seems to bunch up and look like my pack has a soggy diaper. But, it carries great, has plenty of ci's, and it's light.

I had a ground coth type thing like that with a waterproof bottom and a really breathable top made from nylon and I had condensation big time. Threw it in the trash. I'm really interested in hearing how this works for you hubcap.

I read every review I could find on the thing and condensation issues really weren't mentioned too frequently. This one isn't supposed to be completely waterproof, so I have to believe it breathes better than other bivies made of goretex or event, but who knows.

For my upcoming trip. Patagonia down sweater (why don't they make this in women's sizes??????????) men's small.

Oh, and new Komperdell trekking poles to replace the one I broke trying to set up my new shelter. :-( Man, I hate replacing things I really loved and ruined through my own clumsiness. The replacements never stack up.

Since EMS had a decent sale, I replaced my backpacking boots: EMS Summits, Wide. The insurance money hasn't come in yet, but since I'm finally working and earning money again I jumped at the chance. It's fun to be a gear buyer again - even on a small scale.

After all the commotion of yesterday... well somewhere in there i got my new pack, golite race - packed it up and am ready for the weekend... now if i just had somewhere to go. Base weight is at 11 lbs, i've never been so light before - it's like I can fly.

Ben Hogan CFT 3h, 4h, and 5h Hybrids. $150 for all three shipped. Gonna see if they can knock the Taylor Made Rescue Mid 19*, 22*, and 25* out of the bag. The TM's are hook monsters and the Hogans are supposedly better. Nope... still no new hiking gear.

Dropped some coin at the running store today.

A pair of running shoes for my wife and a pair for moi. She uses Brooks and I have recently changed to Asics. These will be our shoes for the Chi-Marathon.

Hiking Relation: I also purchased a pair of Adidas Supernova TR. Trailrunners. Comfy and light. I plan to use these for the IR trip in a week or so.

One thing kind of crazy: I wear a 10.5 in my Asics GT-2090. Allowing for a thicker sock for the trail shoes I plan to use for backpacking, the Adidas I settled on are size 12! There is definitely not that much difference in volume between the two shoes. The sales gal was equally surprised that there would be that much difference in size/manufacturer.

I didn't buy anything in a long time, but I just received a new pair of Smith Moab sport glasses from Sierra trading post. They come with a smoke, clear and orange lens and should work well for any activity I like to do.

Just got my B-day present
Woo Hoo. Just got a Jansport Carson 90 pack for my b-day. B-day\'s not till next month but Mom sent it early.Can\'t wait to try it out next month. You can put a lot of stuff in this thing.
I read all the reviews on this and already contacted Jansport about the problem with the straps. They gave me the information on how to check to see if mine or were the new heavy duty straps. Luckily they are. Good thing is though Jansport will always fix it if there is any problem.

I stopped at Mecca (Cabelas in Monroe Michigan) and bought my lovely bride some gear. I got her a Columbia Omni-tech jacket (for $59 down from $80), some Smartwool socks and her very own 16oz. Nalgene.

Her first backpack trip is at the end of the month. I hope she has fun!

I spent half an hour at Marshalls yesterday and scored three pairs of TNF pants. Two cotton street variety and one pair of 100 weight fleece. They also had stowable nylon pack pants but I had to decide what I needed most. Best part was each pair was $16.99. =) Also got a wicking tee (Asics brand) for $5.

hubcup - I just gto back from REI (eife bought some stuff and had it shipped ot the store) and I noticed that there was a pair of Adidas Supernova TR. Trailrunners on the clearance rack for 50.00! It's god to see that someone else bought them. I have never hear fo that style from Addidas, but they were very comfy at the store. The don't feel like they need a binch of break in either. How are they working for you, you still sold on them? I plan on using them this weekend at Manitee River.

Murphy's law
I ordered a sweet down sweater from Patagonia 2 weeks prior to my trip out west. Weather was frigid with ice on the tent most mornings.

It showed up on my doorstep the day after I left due to first ship date of the new item.

Even though they don't make it in women's, the men's small fits pretty good. It's still sweet!!!

"I spent half an hour at Marshalls yesterday and scored three pairs of TNF pants."

Marshells has had a whole bunch of TNF stuff this fall. We scored a bunch of shirts but found no pants at ours. I'll have to check again. I need a new pair of zip off pants.
