“I came to this board after Maple did and found it to be informative and fun. Informative in that I am relatively green when it comes to backpacking gear and the real nitty gritty of it. That is why my contributions on those threads are scarce. I just don't know a lot about it. But, I do read and I do pay attention and one day, I will have more to contribute to it as I get more experience under my belt. On the other side of the coin, there are 154 threads on this site right now. If 30 per cent of them are backpacking related, then that is a generous estimate. So, being singled out like this is grossly unfair. i have participated on these boards in a multitude of ways. I have posted trip reports, pictures, etc. of our outtings. I have also participated in some of the good, intelligent political discussions that have been carried out here. I have also posted human interest stories, news items and things of general interest. What, out of that list, am I being cursed out for by this troll at the head of this thread? It takes a real courageous person to climb on a high horse, point fingers and condescend a person while hiding behind the anonymity of the web. I want to call you out though. If you are someone who regularly contributes here, then come out of the closet and show yourself, you coward. Also, please enlighten us as to the wonderful contributions your self-righteous fingers have tapped out for our benefit. Ball's in your court, troll! And if you are just a lurker, then realize that this is like a TV set, only there are threads instead of channels. You don't like what you see, change the channel, troll!!”
