Sure, we need more people who don't give a #&%!$ about anything except their quarterly returns.

I say people who support the polluters, mountaintop removal et c. have no business being on the trails.   How's that for 'hiking related'?

I don't tell them about cool places to hike because they'd cover them in beer cans, cigarette butts and vienna sausage cans.

Tilt, please stay off the highways, bridges, cities, farms, recreational lakes made created from hydroelectric dams and eveything else built by spending cash. Oh, I guess that means you are only allowed to bushwhack, please stay off the man made paths.

Good one H! The guy that was the most active in the conversation had some of the most negative things to say about Obama calling him a "monkey" several times.

He continued to ask me, as I live in Indiana, if I was one of the "traitors" that voted for the monkey. Indiana has not voted for a Democrat in a long while.

He also continued to praise Cheney for speaking out and said many times that he hopes he runs in 2012.

It was actually kind of funny how we started speaking. I knoew of this person, but was never formally introduced.

Person 1: I would like you to meet Brian Beanblossom, who actually lives in Indiana.

Person 2: WOW! How much did you pay for your double wide? Do they make those down there?

Me: We actually got a great deal on one without plumbing. I added that last week. Working on stealing the neighboor's electricty next. You live up here I reckon?

Person 2: Wouldn't live anywhere else. I don't mind paying 18K a year in property taxes if you know what I mean.

I was in a #&%!$ty mood and thought about continuing, however I paused and laughed for a second then said, "well, gotta get me some more of that free alcohol. I don't normally get to drink that fancy Henikein stuff."

Millionaires Go Missing
Maryland's fleeced taxpayers fight back

Here's a two-minute drill in soak-the-rich economics:

Maryland couldn't balance its budget last year, so the state tried to close the shortfall by fleecing the wealthy. Politicians in Annapolis created a millionaire tax bracket, raising the top marginal income-tax rate to 6.25%. And because cities such as Baltimore and Bethesda also impose income taxes, the state-local tax rate can go as high as 9.45%. Governor Martin O'Malley, a dedicated class warrior, declared that these richest 0.3% of filers were "willing and able to pay their fair share." The Baltimore Sun predicted the rich would "grin and bear it."

One year later, nobody's grinning. One-third of the millionaires have disappeared from Maryland tax rolls. In 2008 roughly 3,000 million-dollar income tax returns were filed by the end of April. This year there were 2,000, which the state comptroller's office concedes is a "substantial decline." On those missing returns, the government collects 6.25% of nothing. Instead of the state coffers gaining the extra $106 million the politicians predicted, millionaires paid $100 million less in taxes than they did last year -- even at higher rates.

No doubt the majority of that loss in millionaire filings results from the recession. However, this is one reason that depending on the rich to finance government is so ill-advised: Progressive tax rates create mountains of cash during good times that vanish during recessions. For evidence, consult California, New York and New Jersey (see here).

The Maryland state revenue office says it's "way too early" to tell how many millionaires moved out of the state when the tax rates rose. But no one disputes that some rich filers did leave. It's easier than the redistributionists think. Christopher Summers, president of the Maryland Public Policy Institute, notes: "Marylanders with high incomes typically own second homes in tax friendlier states like Florida, Delaware, South Carolina and Virginia. So it's easy for them to change their residency."

All of this means that the burden of paying for bloated government in Annapolis will fall on the middle class. Thanks to the futility of soaking the rich, these working families will now pay Mr. O'Malley's "fair share."

Tilt, you fool... pollution is a libby myth invented by Japanese automakers in order to fool America's next democratic president (who just happens to be a muslim socialist and a limp-wristed, wimpy, iron-fisted tyrant who was fully and solely responsible for 9/11 and the economic collapse) into wresting the torch of perfect democracy from the godly and perfect George W. Bush and dashing it out in the cesspool of fascism.

Let's see what Gropeinator has in mind for budget cuts to try and save CA's $22 billion overdraft:

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is proposing $5.5 billion in additional cuts to help close a $21.3 billion state deficit.

The Republican governor is proposing to eliminate welfare checks for more than 500,000 low-income families, cutting health coverage for nearly 1 million children and phasing out college assistance for thousands of students.

What a typical Republican jackass.

WTF?????

http://thehill.com/leading-the-news/california-democrats-say-obama-is-neglecting-parts-of-the-golden-state-2009-05-26.html

Your MEEEEEEEE First stuff is kinda falling flat....why hasn't the PrezBO solved this one?

Some California Democrats are upset with President Obama for skipping past the state’s Central Valley, devastated by foreclosures and high unemployment, as he heads to a $3 million Hollywood fundraiser Wednesday night.

“He’s not showing us any empathy,” said Rep. Jim Costa (D-Calif.), who endorsed Obama over then-Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) in the Democratic primary last May. “He told us he would visit the heartland of California. He’s coming again and he’s not doing so.”

The valley has been hit hard by court rulings that shut down irrigation in large swaths of the valley, which shuts down farms. Additionally, the implosion of the California real estate market has battered rural communities. In Merced, for example, 8.4 percent of homes went into foreclosure last year, the highest rate in California and triple the state average.

Costa’s criticism of Obama’s itinerary is part of his sense that the economic devastation in rural California isn’t getting the attention it deserves and that the administration lacks a focused rural agenda.

He notes that for the first time in decades, none of the nine top jobs in the Agriculture Department (secretary, deputy secretary and seven undersecretaries) has gone to a Californian.

And he sees the administration as having a Chicago and East Coast tilt, lacking a high-profile White House adviser on agriculture, a role now-Rep. Marion Berry (D-Ark.) fulfilled in the Clinton White House.
