I have absolutely no concern for those who want a good lifestyle, they can get it. We live in the greatest land of opportunity for those who seize it. In my prior life (when I was all growed up and before I grew back down), I did very well financially too. I was fortunate enough to have a new house built, I worked for a company that gave me a brand new car every 9 months, and I guess I was living what America calls the "American Dream". Well, what society calls a dream, I call, at least for myself, whacked out priorities. Although I traveled all around for the company extensively, I only got two weeks vacation for myself. I worked long hours, and found having new stuff and a new house not that big of a deal. I still spent my time dreaming of the mountains, but having too little time to do it. I traded it all for enough garage space for my bed and adventure gear and took the summers off and just freely roamed the northern Rockies and the Sierra and the coast, and it was then I realized what "life" for me was. I often read and listened to what old people would say as they reflected on thier lives, and it never was making more money or working more hours or having more stuff. It was about taking risks and seeking adventure and spending more time with family and friends in the process. So now I make my time count for experiences that will build strong memories, like fighting windstorms on the Lost Coast, or watching a colorful sun set over a white sea of fog in the Central Valley from a ridge in Kings Canyon, or climbing the peaks and bushwhacking into nameless basins, and playing my guitar and keyboard, and hangin' out with family and friends and not worryin' about a cell phone bill, nor making my rent payment this month, nor owing other people money, etc. It's just what I chose. Thanks to God, my eternal "nest egg" is already built up beyond imagine, why worry about it for a few short years here? Even the street gutters in heaven are paved with gold, why should I strive for it here? That's like seeing someone strive and work all their life for asphalt, to me it's foolishness. If wanted to go after moolah again, I would have no doubt I could make a lot fairly quickly, through my own efforts and not putting myself at the mercy of any other man or company to determine my lifestyle. And I'm confident, in this great country, the opportunity is as strong as ever for those who truly seek it. But if someone just wants to sit back and watch unemployment lines or gov't jobless numbers rise or dip, they're gonna possibly have some el problemos. As for the WMD's, we all know Bush has found stockpile after stockpile of chemical weapons, but he's waiting until November 3rd to reveal them. :Þ” 9:01:10 PM 1/12/04 “"Thanks to God, my eternal "nest egg" is already built up beyond imagine, why worry about it for a few short years here?" Wonderful, but like I said, what about all those young Americans that aren't going to be blessed like many of us. The fall is coming, I'll be ok, perhaps you will too...it's all the others I worry about. But then, I guess thats their problem. As for the WMD. It was a scam. Most of America and the world is finally starting to figure it out. Every country in history that rose to great heights, like we did, falls. We have crested the top and are on our way down. Many talk about integrity, but I don't see it in our leaders.” 9:40:07 PM 1/12/04 “As for the WMD. It was a scam. "When I left office, there was a substantial amount of biological and chemical material unaccounted for," Clinton said on CNN's "Larry King Live."” 9:57:40 PM 1/12/04 “There is a big difference between unaccounted for and imminent threat. Funny how everyone keeps quoting Clinton on this. Where are they? He had tons and tons, remember. Then it became, you could hide enough to kill a million people in the back of a truck. Then it was...once we catch Saddam, his scientists will come forward. You've been scammed, dude.” 10:12:04 PM 1/12/04 But hey.... “We got the SOB that tried to kill Bushes daddy.” 10:12:51 PM 1/12/04 “Well, at least anyway we gave him a good medical exam and a clean shave.” 10:14:20 PM 1/12/04 “There is a big difference between unaccounted for and imminent threat. Funny how everyone keeps quoting Clinton on this. Yes, it is funny how everyone keeps quoting Clinton on this, because he actually said it. Contrary to, uhhh, your statement about Bush's "imminent" threat thingy, which Bush never said. I quote facts, you misquote truth. BUT HEY, how 'bout them Bear's?” 10:26:40 PM 1/12/04 “What color is the sky on your planet ;-)” 10:49:02 PM 1/12/04 “what's all the weapons of Moss destruction???? what has the green fuzzy stuff ever done ta harm anyone...besides the always growing on the north side of trees misinformation campaign a few years back....” 11:04:44 PM 1/12/04 “Imminent threat. many of the arguments for war made by the Bush administration were deceptive or false. However, critics who make it appear that the Bush administration's case relied primarily on claims of an imminent threat distort a more complex argument that painted Iraq as an intolerable, but not imminent, threat. Those unfair attacks do not make it legitimate for Bush supporters to jump on any critic who uses the phrase, however, or claim that nobody in the administration ever suggested Iraq could pose an "imminent threat." Complexity is not an excuse for cheap shots from either side.” 12:44:22 AM 1/13/04 “I now understand where Buck comes from. He's a "me firster", "I've got mine, screw everyone elser". This makes things much more clearer. How Elitist of you. The "gutters in heaven are paved with gold", BLECH! and everyone give so much shayte to stikmon......” 8:48:29 AM 1/13/04 “Wow.” 9:34:32 AM 1/13/04 “I now understand where Buck comes from. He's a "me firster", "I've got mine, screw everyone elser". This makes things much more clearer. How Elitist of you. Ha ha! Ya, that's it, laqtis, screw everyone else, I've already got my room off the back of a garage with no air conditioning or heat, I'm such an elitist! Ha ha! Whew doggy! Good schtuff!” 10:31:44 AM 1/13/04 “dismissive as usual.” 10:37:07 AM 1/13/04 “The American people just don't have the guts to do it, and are being given a line of bull from the right, who think anything that is good for multi-nationals is good for all of us." Dunadan 06:19:52 PM 01/12/04 A small minority in the right maybe, who just happen to be pulling the strings right now. I'm as right wing as they come, and I don't support Bush's latest decision or the decision of corps. to shut down their US operations and move out of country.” 1:51:55 PM 1/13/04 “You're a good man, Stick. I also don't think all Republicans think the way those who are in power do. I come from as Republican state as you can get. This state has also birthed many a PROGRESSIVE Republican. We are not afraid to elect a Democrat as governor, because not all the Republicans demonize them. I wish our voices could be heard above the din.” 1:58:37 PM 1/13/04 déjà vu 7:28:13 AM 1/20/04 “What's David Kay up to these days... ?” 7:31:13 AM 1/20/04 “Striiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeke 1,263 Thank you Sir, may I have another? Thank you Sir, may I have another? Thank you Sir, may I have another? Thank you Sir, may I have another? Thank you Sir, may I have another? Thank you Sir, may I have another? Thank you Sir, may I have another?” 8:30:09 AM 1/20/04 “Speaking of blisters... ”8:33:41 AM 1/20/04 “And Rumsfeld has no pants on???” 8:34:38 AM 1/20/04 “PHUCKING CLASSIC!!!!!!! OMG - I got about 12 Repubs I'm emailing that pic to....” 8:34:48 AM 1/20/04 “I figured ya basturds would like it...” 8:36:08 AM 1/20/04 “Rummy looks like HE just found a weapon of mass destruction!” 8:36:39 AM 1/20/04 “......and I mean the lighting in the pic is almost perfect! Man, I'm still crying!” 8:37:33 AM 1/20/04 “Squeal Rummy, squeal!!!” 8:40:36 AM 1/20/04 “"Am I sqealing? You bet I am!"” 8:41:14 AM 1/20/04 “One other board I go on has gobbs of these type board pics on it. There are tons more you'll love.” 8:42:14 AM 1/20/04 “Rummy looks like HE just found a weapon of mass destruction!" aero 08:36:39 AM Yeah, looks like that frefugee from the Village People just landed a heat-seeking moisture missile!” 8:42:53 AM 1/20/04 “frefugee=refugee” 8:43:21 AM 1/20/04 “Don't ask.......don't tell!” 8:43:44 AM 1/20/04 “Dang Treebeard, you're as nasty as Nigal!” 8:44:39 AM 1/20/04 “Then I can blame Nigal for these evil thoughts, Tom?” 8:48:28 AM 1/20/04 “Where's the WMD, Buck. That's why we went in, Buck. He was an immediate threat to the US and countries around him, Buck. The enviormental issue is NOT the reason we went in, Buck. Do you not pay attention, Buck? Seems to me that you get a comission on everyone you can BS, Buck. Is this true, Buck? If not, why do you always advoid the WMD question, Buck? Again, answer the question of the WMD, Buck. You point awahile back that they found blister agent in those mortor shells as a basis for an arguement, Buck. That turned out to be false, Buck. So, where are they, Buck?" - laqtis Hey laqtis, since you brought this up in an unrelated thread, I'll respond here. You keep asking where the WMDs are? You should be asking all the Dems and even Clinton himself who "knew" Saddam had WMDs. I don't wanna go back and provide all those quotes from Dems about Saddams known WMD program (but I will again if you persist, it's quite simple to do), but here's an article that shows even ex-President Clinton being surprised that we haven't found WMDs. ----- "When Clinton was here recently he told me he was absolutely convinced, given his years in the White House and the access to privileged information which he had, that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction until the end of the Saddam regime," he said in an interview with Portuguese cable news channel SIC Noticias." ----- Clinton believes Iraq had weapons of mass destruction” 6:41:08 PM 1/22/04 “I also must add, for the record, laqtis, I never mentioned anything about a blister agent, as you say? Lost me there. You must have me confooozed with someone else. But you're forgiven, no worries.” 7:02:12 PM 1/22/04 “And Bill is more or less qual-fried than Dub on these maters?” 9:40:48 PM 1/22/04 Hey Buck “Show me the WMD.... oh yea, ya can't.” 10:01:59 PM 1/22/04 “I just got home....couldnt resist.” 10:02:34 PM 1/22/04 “You keep trying to dismiss this on Clinton. Too bad he hasn't been in office in many years, but your pal has. Again, for the last time, your boy didn't listen to Clinton's people when they tried to tell them what was going on. You're buddy has been in office and has beatin this country back 5 years. Bush is a moron and your posts just reenforce it. Keep evading the question, keep whipping Clinton for Bush's problems. The Truth is NO HAVE NO IDEA WHER THE WMD IS!!!! HAAAA!! You lie like a rug and stink as much too. Keep evading, keep whipping, keep misledaing....You're a joke.” 10:20:21 PM 1/22/04 “Okay, laqtis, try and blame Bush for these pre-Bush statements on Saddam's WMDs. Hmmm... I guess Bush fabricated WMDs before he was even in office! Whoa! Conspiracies all over da place! ------------ "Iraq is a long way from [here], but what happens there matters a great deal here. For the risks that the leaders of a rogue state will use nuclear, chemical or biological weapons against us or our allies is the greatest security threat we face." - Madeline Albright, Feb 18, 1998 "He will use those weapons of mass destruction again, as he has ten times since 1983." S - Sandy Berger, Clinton National Security Adviser, Feb, 18, 1998 "[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs." - Letter to President Clinton, signed by Sens. Carl Levin, Tom Daschle, John Kerry, and others Oct. 9, 1998 "Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process." - Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), Dec. 16, 1998 "Hussein has ... chosen to spend his money on building weapons of mass destruction and palaces for his cronies." - Madeline Albright, Clinton Secretary of State, Nov. 10, 1999” 10:28:01 PM 1/22/04 “laqtis, I know you're feelin' the heat when all you can do is come back with things like, "you're a joke", and "you stink", ha ha! Oh man! That's deep, those are some strong rebuttals! Fact is, history speaks for itself, and you can try and spin it all you want, but I ain't gettin' dizzy! II ddoonn''tt tthhiinnkk yyoouu lliikkee wwhhaatt yyoouu''rree rreeaaddiinngg!!! II ddoonn''tt bbllaammee yyoou..” 10:30:16 PM 1/22/04 “Where are they.............” 11:01:39 PM 1/22/04 “Ask the Dems that insisted Saddam had them all along... then I'll tell you myself! :^D” 11:02:18 PM 1/22/04 Oh “So now it's the Dem's fault. Get a life, your starting to look foolish.” 11:04:05 PM 1/22/04 “Hmmm... Dems said over and over that Saddam was a threat and had WMDs, and Congress filled with Dems voted for the Iraq war at a higher % than the first Gulf War, and now you ask ME where are the WMDs? Also as the Dems who thought Saddam had WMDs and VOTED for the war, they were privy to much more info than me! Nice dodge though!” 11:06:30 PM 1/22/04 Jump to Page << prev
