“I made it to Binks store last week and came away impressed. Selection was good, especially in the lightweight arena. I'd never seen Equinox Packs in person but had a chance to try one on. Also checked out the Etowah stove and a few other things. It was stock day with boxes here and there, but that didn't keep the staff from asking if I had questions, interjecting personal opinion about products, etc.

In the end came away with some Enertia Chili and a Binks Outdoors mug, which is now my coffee mug of choice (and only $5!).

Definitely worth a trip if you're in the area - just as "productive" a trip as to REI, if not more-so for those pack weight misers.”

“That would not be very pleasant at all... I did play last Thursday in Ashveille.. they now have 4 courses.. the one we went to was supposed to be one of the most challenging wooded courses.. it lived up to its name.. the last 9 had a lot of elevation. Good 21/2 hour hike..”

As expected, the "brand name" fleece was outselling gear by a 5000 to 1 margin.

He has all his tents and sleeping bags marked down by 40% and the sales clerk told me she thought they were going to discontinue handling gear in the store.
