I Love Disney Movies

“Do you guys have a favorite Disney movie? I find them so comforting. I can pop one in and watch it w/ Newergirl and before you know it, we are both sound asleep. My favorite right now is "The Lady and The Tramp." Newergirl loves "The Aristocats."”

“I don't care what anyone says, I liked the Little Mermaid. Used to watch that with my little girl all the time...”

“Oh yeah, how could I forget that one Bit. When I first saw that as a child, I thought I wanted to be a Disney animator when I grew up. I was completely mesmerized by it.”

“Yah, it's the only one I used to go back to the theater to see when it came out every 7 years or so.

My wife went Disney-mad sometime in her childhood, and she's bought almost every Disney movie ever made, so we have all of them, I think.”

“Generally speaking, I like all the Disney movies. Good wholesome movies. I like things like Tron, Mary Poppins, Kurt Russell movies!!! oh my goodness... was the Black Hole a disney one???? I can't remember.

Have you heard where some people say that Walt Disney would be turning over in his grave with some of what is being filmed under his name now. I have to agree with him..... on, of all movies, the Little Mermaid. At the end of the movie, remember where Ariel says it all turned out so well and she could live happily ever after because.... she didn't listen to her father. Am I the only one who caught that? It certainly is a big seller for Disney studios, but it can have the net effect of teaching children that if you don't listen to your father, good things happen. My kids were upset, but after we rented the video once, I wouldn't rent it agin for them. I couldn't believe it. It was a cute movie, well told, but I disagreed with the message at the end.”

“We have them all! My daughter is a Disney Nut. We have almost all the sing-a-long videos as well.

My absolute favorite is Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. When you consider what they did in the 30s, it is really an amazing accomplishment.

I also like Jungle Book with the live actors. I think I have seen that 30 times.

My least favorite is Pocahontas...except the music is awesome.

“Phil, my least favs. are "Pochantas" and "The Hunchback of Notre Dame." Both of them got a little far out there. Esp. in hunchback, when the priest starts singing about "burning w/ lust." Also, what was w/ Esmeralda's pole dancing. Newergirl will not be viewing them any time soon.”
