“Woohoo! I just went grocery shopping and bought a bunch of fruit to dehydrate (mango's, bananas, apples, plums, kiwi). Yippee - a new science project! Now - how to make beef jerky?” 3:19:12 PM 4/14/03 “Twinkle, I use round steak marinated in "Dale's Marinade". Doesn't take too long to marinate. Slice thin and throw on the dehydrator!” 3:20:01 PM 4/14/03 “Marinating in terayaki or soy sauce also works well. Each are salty enough to double as a preservative. Spread on a thin layer of Jack Daniel's grilling sauce, and you have some faaaaantastic jerky. :-)” 3:25:13 PM 4/14/03 “plums??? why bother when they are readily available in most stores (aka prunes)” 4:01:37 PM 4/14/03 “I haven't tried Kiwi. Sounds yummy!” 4:04:25 PM 4/14/03 “hmmmm....seems i picked up jerky ingredients too! I have round sirlion tip steak and a honey teriyaki bbq sauce - maybe I'll try that tomm.... (dear god i need to get more temp work - and fast! my first day with no work and i've dehydrated a grocery store!!)” 4:20:04 PM 4/14/03 “Put the fruit in a blender and you get fruit leather. Be careful not to leave it in too long, it can get a bit tough. It tastes wonderful, though.” 4:22:17 PM 4/14/03 “You are only limited by your imagination. Have fun.” 4:28:50 PM 4/14/03 “BTW, Fuji apples retain their sweetness when dried.” 4:29:16 PM 4/14/03 “I'm dehydrating my famous beans and rice now for my upcoming trip. And tomorrow, some turkey jerky. This trip will be a blast, in more ways than one.” 6:31:08 PM 4/14/03 “lol @ Artex. Twinkle - I marinate my steak in Teriyaki sayce, Worcestershire sauce, and honey. Mmmmm Mmmmm Good. Artex - I ordered your meat gun (lol) and it's been on back order since late Feb. They keep postponing the delivery date. Darn them :-(” 7:54:59 PM 4/14/03 “Those bastards! Hope they deliver it soon. :-)” 7:55:50 PM 4/14/03 “Whatever you do to your jerky, don't leave out the Liquid Smoke in your marinade.” 8:08:35 PM 4/14/03
