Nigal, frankly I don't think it is necessary to ever deliberately play that song ever again...

Zappa did a serious and very interesting version of 'Stairway.' Anyone (besides Tilt) ever heard it?

Yep, and Free Bird too! Still love both of them.

I think I'm the only guy in MS that "got" Dread Zeppelin. Laughed my a$$ off first time I heard them. Have them on CD now, listened to it about a month ago.

I couldn't find the list but I think that Steve Howe of Yes should be near the top.

left work early, relaxing at home
I am surprised that after 20 years, this Mott the Hoople still sounds pretty good.

I have to admit I forgot how to work the turntable. I think I was high the last time I used it.

Turntables.......
I pulled out one of my old LPs and the dang turntable wouldn't work. All the belts had rotted.
I soon discovered not to many turntables are for sale anymore.
Wound up buying a very high $ pro turntable. I think I've played two records on it since then.

Try buying a new receiver/amplifier with a phono option. They only come on the high-end ones. Fortunately, there is a cheaper alternative, an adapter that costs about $50.

Troll isn't that a butthole surfers album?

I'm not saying Zepplin is bad... but come on they are just a white band playing blues with a lot of energy.

Best guitar player? That is a personal choice unless you want to define the parameters.

Yngwie Malmstein or Dave Mustaine are probably the fastest

Angus is arguably the most powerful

Hendrix is maybe the most innovative (meaning he didn't follow convention)

Clapton most well rounded (great musician)

Van Halen most fun

There are a ton more but it is all personal taste

Duane Allman was good in the short time he was around. Don't forget he played with Eric Clapton on the Derek and the Dominos album.

I do remember the time I was watching War perform and I moved them from the stage to my the palm of my hand. I had my own personal concert..lol

Hangman, Hangman, Hold It A Little While...
I believe "...does anybody remember laughter?" was from The Song Remains The Same live album and is said by Plant in the middle of (drum roll please) Stairway To Heaven...the song some of you apparently don't like to hear anmore.

Frankly, there are other Zep songs that get way more airplay that Stairway, and no matter how many times I hear that song I never get sick of it.

Page wouldn't be anything without Plant, it was their combined talents that formed the Zep chemistry. I believe that neither would have done what they created if both wouldn't have worked together...Pages mystical guitar playing and Plants eerie spellbinding voice, lyrics and own melodys that complimented the guitar is what made the band.

I also believe John Paul Jones does not get enough credit for his part in the band. As a musician he was waaaay better than both of them combined, it's just that he wasn't as creative and didn't write the volumes of music that the others did.

I concur...Zep is the greatest.

I've never been a big Zepplin fan but I'll give them credit for giving Rock music a boost. Immegrent Song was prolly the best one they did IMO.
Rolling Stones music never did it for me either.

Black Sabbath is my favorite of all of the Ledgendary Bands.
