“You should have gotten the ring type clamp that gojo refered to.

It's more of a spring like deal than the screw clamp you are using.

You first put the ring clamp over the hose, back an inch or two. Then slide the hose over the dryer vent. Then with a pair of pliers, or strong fingers, pinch the clamp so it opens. Now slide the ring clamp so it secures the hose to the vent.

If your hose is sliding off your vent, your hose may be too short!!!!!”
