I would like to walk in Jacques Cousteau's shoes, except;

1. He did more swimming than walking
2. He's dead
3. He was French...

I have enough trouble walking...
in my own shoes, living up to my own personal standards...why in God's green earth, would I want to do it in anyone elses shoes...

I don't envy anyone elses life, but I do admire certain people, and use that admiration to inspire me to greater living...example, Snow Nymph and Snow Dude, Crazy Mike...they live the life I wish I could and in my own way do. They are in a class of outdoor enthusists by themselves...I'm glad to have met them (not SD, yet). Guys/Gals...thanks for the inspiration. I hope that in my own way, someone looks at my trips and photos and feels the same way, that I've inspired others to go places and see what I've seen, who knows...

No, I choose to walk in my own shoes, follow my own path, and do my own thing, being inspired by others, but not wanting to walk in their shoes...sorry Maple

I would like to go back perhaps 100 years and walk in the shoes of an outdoor person who lived right where I live now. I want to know how it all looked and felt and lived before it all got so civilized. I frequently try to visualize how it must have been.

Anybody else remember Lowell Thomas, the pioneer of adventure travel journalism?

Sir Richard Burton, the English explorer and renaissance man of Victorian times, would be another on my list.

Genghis Khan.

Rule the world on horseback. Conquer every country, town, village and hut he passed through. It's like one long horsepacking trip. No one messes with him. Unlimited supply of wine, women and riches...woohoo.
