Well, it ain't broke, but while assembling gear for a campout tonight I noticed my Petzyl Tikka headlamp is missing the clear plastic cover that goes over the led bulbs. I've never taken the thing off, and last week when I used it I don't remember ever dropping or thunking it on anything to cause it to fall off.

I know the thing still works and the light or headlamp function is not impeded by the cover loss, but this kindof crap urks me.

BTW, there's a replacement lens available from Petzl, the order number is: E44870. There is also a lense kit with a red, a blue and a clear lens (E44850), but why? www.petzl.com

There will be a new filter soon, 'cause the other one's Broke! It's a couple of years old but was only used Once.

Seems like I saw a red lense assembly for the Petzl Micro a while back... I don't know if they still make it. I should've gotten it then. It would be great for preserving my nightvision, for meteor showers and whatnot.

Walmart sells an Eveready headlight with three LEDs, two white and one red. I never can remember which way to move the switch so I just keep one eye open till I know if I'm going to ruin my night vision or not. The back of the light assembly is flat, so if you have a flat spot on your forehead it is very comfortable. Otherwise....

Those pesky scouts took out our water filter this weekend. THey tossed it into a slime puddle to filter water.

One of the poles that keep my MicroZoid up split on my last trip. Actually the end of the pole bent, don't know how and the end would not fit into it. I had to use my teeth to bend it back except, I bit to hard and cracked it.

It is being fixed for free by MSR right now.

After over 10 years of service my compass no longer points north. I have no idea what happened to it, but the poles seem to have reversed on it.
