“I'm probably the only person that feels sorry for John Stephens! He did take things like a man, just like Simon said. I think he has talent in a different aspect than what American Idol is looking for.

My favorite right now is Diane. I think she has really shined the past few weeks and gets better every week. George used to be my favorite and I still think he's adorable but he hasn't done so well the past few weeks. I'm hoping that since he was in the bottom two that it will be a wake up call for him.

I hope, I really hope, that Fantasia is the next to go!

The fact that Fantasia rubs some folks the wrong way actually proves the point. She has something unique and compelling about her, such that you may love her or may be repelled by her. Think of people with strange voices who have had hits, some really big names: Janis Joplin, Neil Young, Geddy Lee, Helen Reddy, Macey Gray, that chick in the Pepsi ads -- can't think of her name now, but she is great to sing along with (and make fun of)

Yesterday was proclaimed "Latoya London Day" here in Oakland by former governor, now mayor Jerry Brown. Apparently, the ribs place down near Jack London Square is the place to be on Tuesday nights - I may have to check it out next week! Gotta admit she was head and shoulders above the others last night.

Diana was very good, too, but I don't think she's put on any weight. She's been a little chubby from the beginning - nothing unhealthy, though, in fact looks like a real person instead of some starving model or something....

“5-Note George was smiling because he knew he got way farther than he should have in the competition. Also, before all of the voice training he got during the latter rounds, he added a couple of notes to his range - he used to be known as "3-note George"!”

“Well, Diana DeGarmo shifted gears tonight with the disco theme and pulled off two pretty good performances -- not just good singing, but some confident performing.

Poor Jasmine -- she went down in flames. Her voice just wasn't up to it and she left the stage in tears after her second song.

LaToya still has the best voice, but she has to exude more passion in presenting the songs -- as Simon said, her personality is still a mystery. But her second song was much more involving than the first.

For Fantasia, the first song was killer, but she picked kind of a clunker for her second tune -- yet she probably did it better than anyone else would have. Not her best night, but still quite good.

Definitely, Diana showed she belonged at this stage of the game. Bye bye Jasmine.”
