Hey Bobo, what is the recipe for that special tea? Did you replace the water with the Turkey?

Lol, ok I will pay you the price of 1 pint of wild turkey carried to the top of the first summit of the Devils path trail.

How is that. I think I am going to adopt it as my official backpacking beverage of choice.

Chef Bobo's TNT
alright Lt, you're on for one pint! If you're only carrying a teensey-weensey pint to the first summit, I guess that means we should finish that teensey-weensy bottle before leaving the first summit?

** OK, so you take some mint leaves... and then you get some formaldehyde... Oh wait, that's my PCP recipe! Silly Bobo!

I'll tell you what, if you agree to carry 750 ml, I'll lay out the entire recipe, hot and cold varieties!

I was going to carry that for the group. The pint was just for you. Silly bobo did you think that I was just going to bring a pint.

You said a pint, so I figured that's what you meant (and I know your humor!)... a pint!

Hey, I'm a team player! you don't have to carry extra just for me. Of course if Gemini goes (I heard she's a boozer!), you may have to carry a gallon!

Lol, you think you are going to make it? If you do make sure you bring extra film. The views are supposed to be awesome!

It's Bobo-licious!
Here is my favorite foot medicine, served hot or cold it's always a treat (and strictly medicinal!);

Wild Turkey 101 and Tea (TnT);
- What's the difference between 101 and regular Wild Turkey? why 21 proof, of course! (Why carry less?) Which makes it that much more effective as an antiseptic for the occasional broken limb, gunshot wound, etc.

Served Hot (for those cold winter hikes),
this is a no-brainer. Steep 4-6 tea bags in a pot of hot water (approx 2 quarts). Add honey or sugar to taste and lemon if you prefer. Add the Turkey gobble gobble, sit back and enjoy!

Served Cold (The rest of the hiking year),
Dump that poisonous water from home and get two quarts of the coldest, sweetest water from your favorite stream, brook, or spring. Dump a little water on the ground to make room for the ingredients while saying a prayer to the mother of the earth, Pachamama (NEVER spill the Turkey, mother can get her own). I like to use the powdered sugared ice tea mix, but have been recently using Crystal Light mix, use enough Tea mix for two quarts or to taste. Add the Turkey gobble gobble, give a good shake, taste and retaste until it tastes just right. It may take two or three 2 quart batches to get that "just right" taste!

Optional - add a slice of lemon or orange if you brought your humanpackmule backpacking friend along to carry the fruit!

Pretty simple, no ?!?

Oh, it's simple alright. Can't imagine why I'd want to do that to my stomach though.

Glen Fiddich is me preferred sipping spirit me lad.

ANY Scotch (well, most) is gooood sippin'. Aye! A dram or two tah take the chill of the stairs!

Soo, I'll guess you're not interested in my infamous wilderness Grain Kool-aid "colors or the rainbow" jungle-juice recipe?

I have a recipe at home for a beverage called Artillery Punch. Something I had in Savannah GA while visiting a friend. This is some good stuff. Something like 11 different types of liquor in it. Problem is the recipe makes like a bathtub amount of the stuff. A keg would be cheaper!

There's a bar near where I work that makes a drink called a Brain Freeze. They use three or four kinds of rum in it.

Does it matter once you throw three, four, or eleven liquors together? What is more important, can you get your gullible backpacking buddy to carry all the supplies?

There is a bar down the street from me that has a sign in the window,
"Liquor in the front, Poker in the rear".

-sorry folks, It's like Phriday for me!

I’ll have to drink some more of your special tea, medicinal reasons of course. I want to see if it helps my knee. The bloodlettings don’t seem to be helping much.

Wassup Must Hike? Bang it on that wheelbarrow?
Geobeet

Geobeet, here's a cut and paste that explains.
I think the problem was that I didn't have the wheelbarrow with me.

"I’ve been thinking about doing this hike for a while, but not in one day!!!
I’d go on the extended version, but I am currently on TT injured reserve.
The last couple of weekends I had been doing a lot of day hiking and at the end of one hike my leg by the side of my knee was quite sore, but a day or two later the pain was gone. Last Sunday morning I headed out on the Thunder Swamp Trail and after a couple miles I was in agony the whole area around my knee was swollen, so I stopped along Bushkill Creek poured cold water on it, took some Advil and just rested. After about an hour I wrapped it in an ace bandage and with my trekking poles hobbled back to my car. After I got home I could barley walk on it. The swelling has gone down, but it still hurts a little, so I’m just going to take it easy for a few weeks and give it time to heal."

Sounds like an inflammation. Yes, rest it awhile and heal. My ankle still gets sore when I go hiking, but it's just weak and needs time to build it back up.

Thanks, Bobo I will have the fixings for the TnT on the Path. Think this might even call for a new gear purchase, a nice 2 qt wide mouth platty and 2 smaller ones for the Turkey. You know rationing it out for the weekend.
