Let the snickering begin...... “Take a look at my latest homemade project. I'll be a big hit with the preschool backpacking crowd! ;)” 8:02:28 PM 4/27/03 “pretty clever idea SS! couldn't you have picked a GAYER looking fabric though?” 8:05:00 PM 4/27/03 LOL “I swear, that was the only fabric they had for that chair! ;) It's a prototype. Not a production model!” 8:09:10 PM 4/27/03 “lmao! not that there's anything wrong with that....... great thinkin otherwise though, always have a chair wherever you go... how did this idea come to you and evolve? you could sell them at campmore....and of course give them to us TTers...” 8:13:56 PM 4/27/03 “Now that's right on!!! I love the fabric-see wet bootie thread! Have you actually hiked any distance with it? Great idea!” 8:22:27 PM 4/27/03 “strat - I've been playing with the idea for some time. I finally found a folding chair that would work for this project Sat. I threw it together this afternoon. Drill four holes, attach a Camp Trails hip belt and a couple of shoulder straps from another frame pack, and it's done. I still need to design an easy to remove pack to attach to the frame. I'll make it so that the pack bag can be used as a food hanging bag when off the pack. I do this kinda stuff for fun. Keeps me out of trouble. tango - I thought the fabric was funny. I knew you would like it! ;) I just made it this afternoon so haven't packed anything in it yet other than loading it up and walking around the house.” 8:35:06 PM 4/27/03 “BWAAAHAHAHAHAH!! That is TOO funny and a cool little project to boot!” 8:43:30 PM 4/27/03 “LMAO!!! You da man, StoveStomper!!! I'm sure you will be sending all your *trial* models out to us, just like with your stoves, right?? 8-)” 8:46:14 PM 4/27/03 Now for the biggie?!! “How much does it weigh?” 8:50:18 PM 4/27/03 “On the photos he said the chair was like 1 lb. 4 oz., I think. So tack on straps and a belt...and with those lightweight packs he put on it, it can't be bad.” 8:51:27 PM 4/27/03 “Thanks Stikmon. Nope pretty cool!” 8:59:56 PM 4/27/03 “That chair could support the foot end of a tarp.I'm heading to the garage with a scale.great idea-thanks.” 9:06:49 PM 4/27/03 salebored “?? How do you figure that could support a person's weight? Wouldn't it slide or tip over?” 9:12:37 PM 4/27/03 Total weight of less than 2 #. “Weight breakdown: 1 lb. 4 oz. - chair 7.4 oz. - Camp Trails Hipbelt 4.2 oz. - Two old pack straps 1 lb. 15.6 oz. total for chairpack frame. Add a sil-nylon pack bag, about 12 oz. for a grand total of less than 3 pounds. Not bad, even by ultralight standards. The hipbelt and pack straps could be made much less in weight. I'll have to test this thing on a trip before I claim success.” 9:30:52 PM 4/27/03 “We need to get this to the top of the heap again. We can all say "We knew StoveStomper way back when he was a nobody.... errrr... peon.... err... one of the many with nothing better to do, who contribute to Trailtalk."” 10:06:41 AM 4/28/03 “Wow, that looks pretty neat. I was always an Oscar the Grouch fan myself. That looks like a good option for, ahem, "lighter individuals". I think it might collapse if I sat in it though. Is it stronger than it looks?” 10:08:47 AM 4/28/03 “LOL, I've been called Oscar the Grouch a few times myself. The chair has a weight limit of 190#. I'm at 182 currently and it holds me fine, so far. People with wide behinds may find it a little small, ha ha.” 10:12:18 AM 4/28/03 “lmao pitbushah!” 10:12:46 AM 4/28/03 “well, that is just too cute, Stoveypoo. :-) LMAO @ stratdewd!! but i like the fabric!” 10:13:12 AM 4/28/03 “Great Idea Stomper, but I would flatten that chair in a millisecond! How's about an Adirondack chair in a neutral color !?! Or how about putting a hole in the center for when nature calls?” 10:22:42 AM 4/28/03 “I think I had a sleeping bag with that pattern on as a child ss :o)” 10:23:46 AM 4/28/03 “That would make me the "120% test case". "Chair flattened in .25 seconds."” 10:27:45 AM 4/28/03 Hey Capn Bobo “Just for you! My next project. ![]() http://www.outbackpack.com/">I'll add straps and a hipbelt to this baby. Hee hee.” 10:31:08 AM 4/28/03 10:32:25 AM 4/28/03 10:33:57 AM 4/28/03 “” 10:36:19 AM 4/28/03 10:37:10 AM 4/28/03 10:38:29 AM 4/28/03 10:40:50 AM 4/28/03 lol! “That's what I'm talking about! What's better than communing with nature in your favorite Bert and Ernie chair (just have to add the toilet paper holder)!” 10:42:35 AM 4/28/03 “Disaster Relief! Yeah, you could say that!!” 10:43:43 AM 4/28/03 12:02:48 PM 4/28/03 “LOL Stovie, that is very cute! But can you make me a Sponge Bob one? plezzzzzzzzzzzzz” 2:53:23 PM 5/01/03 “Ya how about a Scooby-Do one now that would be so very pimp! 8)” 3:49:44 PM 5/01/03 “Bumper sticker on the way to work this morning: "What would Scooby do?"” 3:52:11 PM 5/01/03 “Hey CMB! How they hanging? You NEED to go on 2scoops RMNP trip with us!” 3:58:14 PM 5/01/03 “i was doing my weekly check at the salvation army saturday and i cam across a little packpack for kids , like a bookbag type but small and it had bert and ernie on it. i just completely cracked up! i wanted to buy it and send it to stovestomper. my kids were asking me what was so funny....” 12:08:11 AM 5/02/03 “LOL, maybe I could have attached it to the packframe.” 8:11:31 AM 5/02/03 “lmao, exactly!” 9:06:38 AM 5/02/03 “STRATDEWD GETCHURASS BACK THERE!! will ya??!? SHEESH! OK, StoveStomper, I would like a retro "George of the Jungle" model, pullleeeeeeeeease??” 9:11:54 AM 5/02/03 “lizs - You'll have to get in line. Maple has allready demanded a SpongeBob version!” 9:14:20 AM 5/02/03 “i had a starsky and hutch lunchbox when i was a kid......” 9:19:16 AM 5/02/03 “You guys are so funny! Everybody knows Scooby Doo is the way to go. Sheesh!” 9:21:43 AM 5/02/03
