Go Johnny, Go!
At 1:19 PM this afternoon(EDT) there was a press conference/dedication of our new stadium here at Towson University(Baltimore area).

I go to lunch from 1:00 to 2:00.....very convenient!

John was here last September for the opening game and was to be community liason or something for Towson sports.

Six days later, he died.

Two of his seven kids are students here.

At the conference I saw:
Lenny Moore
Artie Donovan
Stan White
Rick Volk
John Macke
and a bunch of others!

He was the greatest on and off the field!

Amen to that. Glad to hear of it. Johnny U of the hightop shoes, crewcut, and two minute drill.

I can still see him fading back and mailing a bullet to Ray or Johnny. Touchdown, Colts win, Charlie Eckman is ecstatic, life is good.

I think it was a shame the NFL wouldn't let Peyton Manning wear black hightop shoes as a tribute to Johnny U. last year. But then again, I guess for about $50K in fines, he could have done it anyway.

How could I forget Raymond Berry?

He did most of the talking!

There was a guy I never heard of....Elmer Wingate?

Pizza Palace
That's great. He deserves the recognition. I would have liked to see the Ravens name their ( oops, OUR stadium............built with tax $) after Johnny Unitas, but they can't turn down the money for naming rights from some corporation. It's great for Towson U, but somehow strange, since he never went to school there. His alma mater, the Univ of Louisville already named it's stadium after Papa John's Pizza.

Good for Towson U for honoring the man.

Whenever Charlie Eckman was happy, all Balmer was happy. And Charlie Eckman was one happy dude in those days. Oreos and Cotes were both doing good, and the nags were running at beyoootiful Laurrrr-ell.
