Both parties should be drummed off the platform! The purpose of science is to determine provable facts which is what should be taught in public schools. The purpose of religeon is to give meaning to our lives, how god created the world is not important.

It is not the place of science to say that god did not create the world since it cannot be proven or disproved. It is not the place of religeon to say how the world was created because it deals with spiritual matters and not physical ones.

dom: what most ppl arent aware of, is that evolution is a fact, not a theory. no credible scientist questions evolution. the phrase "theory of evolution" is akin to something like "theory of round earth". unfortuneately, many laymen still cling to 4000 year old superstitious mythology. evolution has been proven, the fossil record is there. most bible-thumpers refuse to accept it because they think if you discount genesis, then the whole bible is a lie, then their whole world and spiritual security falls apart.

what is debatable, is the idea of natural selection. that has not been proven. to recap (say it with me boys and girls) "evolution is fact, natural selection is theory, Creation is myth"”

my boy, the 9 yr old came home a couple weeks ago and said his teacher tried to tell them that GW was a bad president and that he was wrong for for the iraq thing and even afghanistan. i asked him what he thought and he said he told the teacher that he believed bush was a good president and that bush was right. i was all YEAH! YOU DA BOY! lmao! high fiving him. he said most of the kids liked bush. the teacher got into a bad mood after this happened. of course i know her from meeting her, and i like her. she's just a liberal and tries to influence impressionable kids to. i started to get mad and tell her about it, or the principle, but then i figured my boy(and the other lids) put her in her place just fine. funny that a nine year old sees through this crap and ya'll grown ups don't.

anyways, my point is, ya'll can sit here and try to impress each other with fancy smancy words and deep thoughts but it's really simple. if you think this whole idea is BS, look at what they are trying to convey by doing this. look at the idea they are trying to supress. look at the way they are trying to make us think. it's not critical at all, it's dumbed down sumbission. it's liberalism, plain and simple.

I've always liked and respected you, and you don't know me much, so I feel it's necessary to tell you that I was just joshing about the men/women thing on the TrailTalk thread about "what we're teaching the kids".
In reality I have the utmost respect for the wife and mother's role, I believe it to be the highest calling, and the most difficult job on the planet.

Strat and Scoops on the issue of media, you both need to read a new release called "What Liberal Media" I'm in the middle of it and will let you know what I think when finished. It's an in depth look at media and how it is perceived by the public. Lots and lots of supporting facts and sources.

On this issue:

evolution SHOULD be taught. evolution is a fact, not a theory. it happened. where the debate really is, is whether or not it was by natural selection, i.e. random mutations causing significant changes in the species over millions of years. that was the accepted theory for years. now, scientists are moving away from natural selection, to what i have perceived as sort of a "guided evolution". yes, god created the universe. and the world. and man. god created the universe and man by means of the big bang and evolution. its amazing how in our early years as a civilization, science and religion were so closely connected, then moved away from each other, and are now coming back together again."

I think I know what Scoops is talking about here. There is a new movement is science. It is a realization that all the things they've been studying for years are not moving in some random order. There is new realization that there is some order to the universe and a renewed effort to find out what that is. It's not creationism or beliving in the supernatural. It's ajust a fresh look at an old question.”
