Kean University (www.kean.edu) or William Paterson (www.WPUNJ.edu)

I just read that kean as a 65-35 female to male ratio

Seriously, icetea, if the high F/M ratio is what you seek check out UNC Chapel Hill. Thr chsool also has an excellent reputation for several diciplines (besides basketball). And, if you get tired of slumming it, you can always drive up the street to Duke University and check out smart AND rich chicks.

wow, such high criteria....If it's this tough a decision, try the little things. For example, which school offers the better program for your chosen field of study? Which school are you more comfortable with after meeting some faculty and seeing the campus? Which school is regarded as more prestigous? You know, the minor details....

Tea do yourself and whoever is footing the bill a favor and spend the first two years at a community colledge, the credits will transfer over to the pricey schools (usually) and you save a bundle of money in the process.

Picking a school based on male/female ratios is an interesting way to show your priorities....

Tea, I think a good part of college is having fun, meeting people, and doing some crazy things. But make sure you chose a place that can provide a good education, and don't forget the real reason you are there in the first place. It sucked to see a couple really smart friends get kicked out of college because they forgot why they were there.

Good luck! :)

Ice, you mentioned coin tosses. Here's what you do. Heads is Kean, tails is WP. Throw the coin up into the air. What did you invision or hope for, heads or tails? You have your answer.

Female/Male ration? coin tosses?

Tea, I thought you were a serious young man!

You need to ask yourself... "where can I get the best backpacking?"

I took a year off after high school and, after hitch hiking around the country, chose to go to school in the nicest town I saw, with the best live music (I also wanted a college that was as different as possible from the Ivy league I grew up next to, but which still had courses that could make me think).

go to the best university that can show you how to become a crook, then you can get into politics since that is something you have mentioned you wanted to do...j/k

Also to help save money for college apply for every scholarship you can find. There is a CD (forgot who it is by) out there that has 1000's of scholarships listed on it and it even has the papers to fill out so you can email them in. You need to do this the last yr of high school. You may get turned down by 98% of them but that 2% may be enough money to get you through a semester.

Hey, College Boy!
So you're in college now. Got it all figured out, huh? Think again, Socrates!

The way I do the math, you're a loser!

You see, after golden time, I'm pulling in 29k at the Simpkins Fiberglass Molding plant. You, however, are paying 20 thousand to sit in your dorm room and get high. You know how much it costs me to high? Nothing. My roommate's a dealer. And he's Jamaican, so you know it's frickin' sweet. Begin to see the difference, Descartes?

And what about beer?

I'm 19 years old. It would be practically impossible for me to score a six pack in a college town without getting carded. But when I go to the Rebel Room with my middle-aged co-workers, nobody blinks an eyelash. So here's a toast - Here's to you and your grape soda, Sophocles. Cheers.

To be fair, life isn't all one big party. What about the pure acquisition of knowledge? That's what your Liberal Arts are supposed to get you, right Plutarch? Well, did you know that fiber composite parts offer the following advantages: high corrosion resistance, tight tolerances, high dielectric strength, high degree of design flexibility, high strength-to-weight ratio, and a better stiffness-to-weight ratio then steel??? No, I bet you didn't, Confucius. Chew on that the next time you swing a golf club with a graphite shaft, or take aim at a table-rolled fiberglass flagstick. In fact, take a look around, Rockefeller. I think you just might be surprised to discover how much fiberglass you'll find at your fancy-boy country club.

Oh sure, I know you think you're going to clear way more than 29k once you get out of college. For the sake of argument, let's say that you will. But who's really coming out ahead? Maybe a simple comparison will make some things clear to you Kierkegaard:

Me:Enjoys the King of Beers - $2.00 a can.

College-Boy:Sips "Chateau Scrueme" at $200 a bottle

Me:Will marry a Hottie from the trailer park whose idea of a lavish vacation is a houseboat in Havasu, and who doesn't mind going "downtown," if you know what I'm saying

College-Boy:Will marry and divorce several whiny, high-maintenance trophy wives who will cuckold you repeatedly with a blue-collar "real" man such as myself.

Me:Can get my engine repaired by my friend Carl the mechanic for the price of parts and a few rounds.

College-Boy:Carl will rape you for $500, then laugh about how he put sugar in your gas tank to make sure you'll be back for more "service."

Me:Will die peacefully in my sleep at 82. I will be survived by my loving wife, 3 children, and some waitresses who know how to keep a secret. At the viewing, many will comment on my magnificent head of hair.

College-Boy:Will die of an aneurysm at 58 - bald, fat and unloved. Whatever money that hasn't been devoured by your ex'es will go to children who barely knew you thanks to your long hours spent manipulating flow charts. RIP, Schopenhauer.

There are a crapload of other factors, too, and I've actually worked out the numbers, and when all is said and done, between my friendship discounts and your lifestyle expenses, I'm making $468,000 more than you over the course of a lifetime, Spinoza!

Honey Nut Cheerios ya mean? They're great but not as good as Fruity Pebbles.

It's a very small rubber band put around the nuts of baby bulls that the rancher doesn't want going around doing the females. It cuts off the circulation and they drop off. They are generally put on at branding time.

I think that would be a very educational experience for Tea. Don't you? I even know a couple guys that could hook him up w/ a chance to actually put some nut cheerios on a few calves.

Yeah, I seriously agree too Artex. I was just trying to scare the poor lad, w/ some MT talk. LOL!

If it's bping he wants . . . we got it. If it's running he wants . . . Aero can hook the kid up. Not sure what kind of program he wants . . . but we got good schools. Plus, old ranchers are pretty conservative types. He'd love that. Oh . . . and we can breath the air here.

I've only backpacked with the kid once, but everything you just outlined newgirl, I think he'd go for. Despite his conservative nature, he's pretty open-minded. I'm curious to hear what he thinks once he reads all of this.
