For me, it's typically:

1. 3 or 4 sleeping bags (OK, so two of them are Slumberjack 30 and 40-degree ones.. quitchur snickering!) The other two are a zero and -15 Kelty down bags. OK, so I MIGHT take out the -15 when it's 70 out. It was mighty comfy last weekend when there was frost out. LOL!!

2. A tent, be it my 2-person Sierra Designs (hey, you gotta be ready for what shows up, right??) and my new one-person, condesation king Eureka Zeus Exo.

3. Trekking poles (although to hold up the no-longer-working pneumatic thinggee on the rear door on my '90 Jeep Cherokee I have a big old stick!)

4. Thermarest.

5. Zip lock bags of various sizes

6. Headlamp

7. extra hiking boots

8. extra pants

9. extra socks

10. Camelbak

11. Maybe a ground cloth

12. Carpet runner for luxurious ground cloth. LOL!

OK.... so I LIVE out of my Jeep!!! Your point would be??????????

Bic lighter! I'm always in need of one and often leave them at home so keep one in the Jeep all the time. I should keep a damn spoon in there too. Oh and I have a big first aid hiking kit too.

I'll keep more in the truck when I start backpacking, still snowboarding til early June. I kept the snowshoes in the truck until we got the condo. Now I keep it there, including a daypack.

I keep stuff in my old jeep with the 8,000# winch on it. Straps, cables, saws & come-a-longs because it gets sloppy in the spring. I use the jeep to leave in the woods or haul my canoe into remote area's. I keep a sleeping bag in my (high mpg)little car because I day I go in at 3am & the next at 7am. I could get home very late & have to be gone again early the next AM. Sometimes it's easier just to curl up in the parking lot then drive home for 2hrs sleep & come back.

None, unless condiments; napkins; and an umbrella count. I like a really clean car. I keep my backpacking stuff in the gear attic and I put it in the car only for trips.

I was debating it. Ya know, she dreams of Sturgis, too. Now... I don't know if she's doing anything in Sturgis to get beads or not....

lesseee... Snownymph reminded me I sometimes have:

14. 35 mm camera

15. Digital camera

16. tripod

17. GPS

Ya see, it all starts in the winter. What if I am stuck somewhere??

And since only **I** use my big ole Jeep, I have a ready place for stuff.

SOMETIMES IT GETS INSIDE!!!

"closet".... LOL, bacpac

I did a quick inventory just now:
Small flashlight
Highway map
Empty beer can

Another benefit of having a crappy car, it's not worth stealing and nobody ever thinks there's anything worth stealing in it. Worked for me for 20 years. Now I have a nice truck. So far, so good.

it's a big annual harley davidson rally that they hold in the black hills of south dakota. people come from everywhere to show off their bikes. and really ugly women raise their shirts.

So when is this held?

Every biker that I've ever met has been cool as hell.

On a similiar note, you know what I'd love to? Dress up in a suit with a bowtie, put on a pair of nerdy looking glasses, and ride around Sturgis on a moped and hurl mock insults at the bikers. That'd be fun!
Artex

ynami--too funny!!! it's held the first week in august
