Here's the link to the website, which won't come up for me, BTW. Must have flash or something normal-but-too-exotic for run o' the mill Mac

Unless Tilt is a Vegas gambler whose nickname is "The Matador" because of his ability to lure the young bulls (of high-stakes poker) into the ring and cut them down, then no.

TV SHOE!!! What, ya never watched Ed Sullivan, with the "really big shoe??!?"

I still don't know what the show is about. Does the page have Flash or what... and why isn't it coming up?? Will have to try on the PC at home...

What's up with this crazy moon?

It was clearly visible yesterday afternoon and when I came to work this morning, it was still visible.

Is this normal?

I noticed it too. Last night it was almost straight up. This morning it was almost straight north and at the horizon. I assumed it was rising, but then it was straight up last night. I guess I should pull up an atlas to see what's going on.

chili - was it blood read? Moohahahahaha

Mars Attacks. They are pulling our only moon, out of orbit!!

Okay, okay...

well, the Moon does lag behind the rotation of the Earth by about 40 or 50 minutes every day (depending on where you're observing from)... so that gives it a little more time in the sky. And seeing as how it was so near to being full... Yep, pretty normal, I think.

No, not blood red. Probably noticed it because the sky was so clear yesterday and last night.

We had a light snow Saturday night, but there wasn't a cloud in the sky Sunday.

The (near) full moon made for a fantastic view of the north face of Rich Mountain last night from my deck.

I started to drive over to Cades Cove yesterday, but decided it was probably closed or the road would be slick in the shady areas.

No dammit. I tried murder cases and generally plowed through a mountain of #&%!$ to get to the stage in life where I could move to the mountains.....I am going to gloat until I get tired of it.

chili - I was teasing about the blood thing.

Tilt - what about is appearing to set almost due north. That seemed strange.

Note:

Azimuth is the angle along the horizon, with zero degrees corresponding to North, and increasing in a clockwise fashion. Thus, 90 degrees is East, 180 degrees is South, and 270 degrees is West. Using these two angles, one can describe the apparent position of an object (such as the Sun at a given time).
