The Bad News:

Some lowlife scarfed that Mountainsmith Auspex that was on eBay for $169.

The Good News:

It turns out that this here credit card has a one-time discount of 35% at Snow Leopard so the Auspex cost... $169.

(and it IS the newer model, <G>... thanks again for that heads-up, Ped)

A friend of mine came home from our costume party to find his daughter in intensive care. Her ex violated a PFA order and broke her jaw,eye socket several ribs and left her with a concussion.

The good news is her dog ripped his calf muscle out crippling the bastard for life... and hes heading for a loong jail term.

Good Doggy.

Boy, if that dog were only a foot or so taller, it could have crippled his manly bathroom breaks for life too. Thank goodness the dog was there!

I know if it was my daughter jail would be the only safe place on the planet and I would seriously contemplate offering his cell mates rewards to make his life miserable...

I havent met the dog but I suspect it isnt that big. Id think larger breeds would have bitten higher. My friend is sure the dog saved his daughters life.

Thank God her dog was around. I hope she recovers quickly and is able to not let the trauma ruin her life. Never understood how a man could hit a woman.

The short answer Birch is Men are programmed to resolve problems with Direct force while women solve their problems Indirectly by manipulating the people around them. Sorry to all this definition offends but perhaps its a topic for anouther thread....

My thoughts are with the daughter.

The loyalty of dogs is wonderful. It is some consolation to know that the dog was protective and administered some direct justice.

Incidents like this always seem to leave me at odds with myself. On one hand I am outraged and very angry over the matter. I very much want the offender severly punished. On the other hand My beliefs require me to forgive him inspite of myself. It takes a while sometimes for me to accept the two impulses and do what I know to be right.
