How are all the Huntsvillians holding up? I can't make it to work. Poor me!

I heard that the Parkway was flooded some. My wife might have a hard time fetching my daughter from school.

We had some nasty floods here in '73 or '74. They printed the Huntsville Times in blue ink that day because all the black had been destroyed in their flooded basement.

Our Disaster Recovery Division hit max capacity yesterday. I have diverted half my division to find subcontractors for them. Some really bad problems in a lot of places this week.

There is only one lane open on the Whitesburg bridge because there were 3 wrecks there this morning. Traffic down there is backed up one hour. My boss told me not to even worry about coming to work because the parking lot was flooded up to the trunks of the cars. Parts of the parkway is also closed due to flooding and they said some people were having to back down the parkway. My boss said they were probably closing after lunch anyway.

There is just something funny about drivers in Huntsville. It's the only place I've seen where people actually speed up in the rain, like if they get home sooner, they stand less of a chance of getting in an accident.

Glad I don't need to go to the doctor today...

I just watched some footage on channel 31 and they were showing idiots on the intersection of clinton and the parkway driving through water that was over the tires of their car.

I have an appt with an ENT at 3 today, and I called to see if they were open, and they said that they don't have any nurses there right now and they were going to decide at 1 if they were going to stay open the rest of the day.

That area of town, over to the Governor's Drive intersection, is some of the lowest part of Huntsville. It will probably drain away pretty quickly.

I'm board here at home, I want to go to work. I just called Huntsville Police and ask them the best route to go and they said "stay at home, don't even attempt it."

The news just showed some apartment complex on University where a dumpster is floating around the parking lot hitting cars!

Oh Brother!!

The hospital never called telling me to stay home...so I tried to make it there.

I tried 3 different ways and couldn't go any of them. So, I decided to go back home. Well, some trees had fallen over the road going up Keel Mtn and I had to back down the mtn and park at a friends house. I changed into my exercise clothes and started hiking home in the rain 2.5 miles...uphill.

When I got home, there was a message on my machine telling me to stay home.

LMAO !!!!!
