Backpackers in Indiana.View MessagesViewing posts 1 to 8 of 8 messages posted.
Horse Trails & Hiking Trail. “This has been many a burning topic in Indiana. (1)Horse trails are almost 90% in Indiana. (2)There is only 10% of trails in Indiana for backpacking and hiking in Hoosier National Forest. The Hoosier Hikers been for years to help the backpacker here in Hoosier Natioanl Forest but every time it has gone before the USDA they have shot down the idea that (1)Horses do not do alot of trail damage to the trails.(2)They take the same stand all the time share the trail. I think that this fuc#en sucks.I have written people in the states goverment lots of time with no luck. Do other states and all of you people who backpack feel the same way? 8|” 4:56:35 PM 5/08/03 “mike are you drunk?” 6:52:04 PM 5/08/03 “No just pissed! 8|” 7:20:28 PM 5/08/03 “pissed means drunk if youre british” 7:25:57 PM 5/08/03 “Well I am not! 8|” 7:27:56 PM 5/08/03 “Horseback riders using the same trails as backpackers does not bother me in the slightest. I agree with the USDA that the horses do not do alot of damage. Also the horseback riders have to pay a fee for using the trails, backpackers do not.” 10:40:20 PM 5/08/03 “Come hike in Indiana sometime! Horses suck!!!!!! 8|” 5:51:18 AM 5/09/03 “I hiked the Black Forest Trail in PA. about 15 years ago when horses were allowed on it and they do do much more damage than hikers. On hills they can rip rocks right out of the ground.” 6:44:23 AM 5/09/03
