Sweet, I can get one for me, the wife and the 2 kids. Charles will have to wait to use it for a couple of months since he still have some trouble holding up his neck.

Grace could take it to daycare for show and tell.

They probably don't allow guns in her school so you might have to stand outside the window and hold it up for them.

I don't think they check her bag when she comes in. These are only 3 and 4 year old kids. I do think it is important to educate children on proper hand gun usage.

I need a handgun with more "stopping" power, but light and easy to use left handed by a right handed guy. Maybe put a lazer sight on it.

I don't. The gun I listed would be a hunting rifle.

I use mine for hunting and for plinking/skill shooting. They are very enjoyable to shoot.

Stovestomper, look into the lightweight double action revolvers by S&W or Taurus. IMHO the lightweight semi-autos (such as KelTec, sorry guys) are just not very good. Crimson Trace makes lazer sights that are built into the gun grip.

I'm really curious why people think they need a handgun. To me, that's not a hunting device, but maybe I'm wrong. I'm now VERY curious why people won;t give a legit / honest answer!

Then you didn't need to respond, maybe you don't know English, the question was WHY DO YOU WANT A HANDGUN? If you don't want a handgun, don't respond!

Your answer(s) make absolutely no sense whatsoever... would you care to actually try to communicate with the rest of the world & tell us why you need a handgun, or would you like to just continue being *#%$#$&^@%$

so I can, if I need too. or want too

Damn, I feel bad for you... you think it's necessary to have a handgun JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN?

I have hunted with a handgun. Like NC I enjoy shooting / plinking with a hand gun. I also shoot rifles and shotguns. The handgun adds another level of difficulty to shooting.

Owning a handgun because you want one or just because you can is not a reason to feel sorry for someone. People own large SUVs, motor homes, boats and other non-essential fuel hogs. They own them because they want one and can afford them. They are not bad people because they drive vehicles that emit more greenhouse gasses than absolutely necessary. They are causing more harm than some person with a legal pistol used for home defense and sport shooting. To make a long story short....I own a hanggun because it is within my rights, I want one and I can afford it. These are the same reasons people drive the afore mentioned fuel hogs.

I want one so I can make bigger holes in people, if I need to. Right now, I can make plenty of small 22 size holes.

I have limited use of my right side so a long gun is not the best for me.

Maybe try reading a little harder because I'm pretty sure I gave you one. Also, if you lose the I-don't-want-one-so-why-would-anyone-want-one attitude you might understand. Or better yet, go to a local shooting club and try it. Educate yourself.

Comparing guns to SUV's etc., has to rank at the top of the most rediculous comparisons I've ever heard.

We're talking about weopons that KILL people, not gas-guzzling vehicles, can't you get a grip on that? talk about comparing apples & oranges, wow!

Tarabull, yes your answer was legit -you use yours for hunting! Read the other bullsht answers I referred to & you'll understand my complaint.

Wanderer it appears that you have strong beliefs on the subject of handguns. I do not happen to agree with them as you can tell. You are soliciting opinions from other TTers just to ridicule and berate them. That is a chickensh$5 way to approach things. My point with the SUVS was that people own them knowing that they have the ability (and do) to cause harm to the environment. I have handguns knowing in the wrong hands they can cause harm. It is my right as a citizen of this country to own a handgun. You can get alot more done by voting for people with similar beliefs and giving money to them than you can by getting on this forum and being a dic%.

One thing that's ridiculous here, wanderer, is you not accepting any answer that challenges your emotional, preconceived notions. YOU have the emotional issue with handguns, handgun owners (the vast majority) do not.
The other ridiculous thing is you not understanding the "apples & oranges" comparison and the point that was being made. People like you always have to resort to the 'we're talking about weapons designed to kill!' line because your thoughts about guns are emotionally driven. Like I said earlier, YOU don't want one so you can't understand why ANYONE would want one. That also is ridiculous. The same could be said about any piece of backpacking gear you own that I don't: why do you want it? why do you need it? I don't want or need it so it's inconceivable to me.

Lose the emotional connection to guns, dude. Go to a club. Try one. Try several. They......are......enjoyable.....to.....shoot. They can be used for hunting. They can also be used to protect yourself and your family.

Now say something silly about me comparing handguns to backpacking gear.

PS: my handguns have yet to kill anybody and I have owned them for years. Maybe they're defective?

Cool - are those grip lasers really worthwhile?

Here in MO, it's just been signed into law that suppressors are legal to buy/own/sell, as long as you have at least a C&R FFL. I've just sent off my application to get one. Silent .22LR plinking, here I come!

On the smaller .38s, .22s, etc, they're great although they really magnify the hand shakes, lol. I don't have any experience with them when it comes to something with a little more snap....I'm curious myself as to how well they'd hold up. I've seen crosshairs damaged in regular handgun scopes with some heavy .44 mag and .308 (TC Encore) loads.

NC I have been looking at a S&W M&P 40 or 9mm. Do you have any feedback on that model. The rails looked a little light. Any feed back would be appreciated.

A friend has the Crimson traces on a .40 cal. He has a couple of hunred rounds thru it and they seem to have held up and stayed sighted in pretty well.

We had a set on a Ruger 22 pistol. They worked well to break bad habits in quick fire ranges. They were taken off and traded after the "new" wore off.
