“LOL....I have a 44mag single action, one night on the range the RANGE OFFICER (read IDIOT) came up and was watching us shoot it. He asked to try it, picked it up in a modified chapman with the left index finger going up past the cylinder and wrapping around the pistol.

HE squeezed the trigger BOOM....the blast around the cylinder/barrel area cut a huge chunk out of his finger. Now you need to know this guy was a cop for all of five minutes but his DADDY got him the range job after he got suspended for being an idiot.”

Because the range near our house is full of good-ol boys who smell "female" and start humping your leg. Usually Synchro sets me up in the pistol range, with 3-4 guns to shoot, then he goes down to the rifle range to shoot the AR15...and about 2 seconds after he leaves...the creepy old range master seems to apear out of nowhere, trying to give me "lessons".

The best was last year-the XD 40 was new, and with my carpal tunnel issues, I couldn't rack the slide-which of course is a no-no. I had it unloaded (I checked!), with no magazine. The rangemaster nazi came over and was yelling at me for it-and picked up the gun-without asking me!-and was talking loudly and waving the gun around..and he couldn't rack it..LMAO!! It was that tight. Served the jerk right! About then Synch showed up and told him to get his hands off of his gun.
Hello, what guy doesn't know that the two things you don't touch at a range is another man's gun and his woman? Not that dork.

The range masters sit in a tiny unlit booth watching closed circuit tv's. I don't really want to know what they are doing when ladies are shooting. Ewwwwwwww.............

I found the XD to be a bit tricky at first because it won't rack unless you have the safety on the back of the grip depressed.

btw- you said you bought a conversion for the 40 to 9. I had heard you can load 40 ammo into the nine's mag which gives a little more capacity. Is this possible?”

“I tried the Chapman stance yesterday. I set up a can at 25 yds and on the first shot hit it dead center. (patting self on back). The next four shots just scared the earthworms. Went back to my way of shooting and hit the can once out of five shots. Again the worms were running for their lives. So I have a 20% chance of actually hitting what I'm shooting at. Need lots more practice.”

“For the most part neither of us have liked the XD 40, but as converted to a 9 it is great.
Oddly though, I love the XD 9, and he loves the XD 9 and 45..he hasn't let me touch the 45 yet :-( It is still his new toy...sigh!”

“I went out with a buddy of mine who is a competitive pistol shooter and instructor. I have always considered myself pretty good with a pistol but after spending a couple of hours with an instructor I can see the difference. My hope was that he could undo any of the bad habits I had picked up over the years so I just told him to treat me like a noob and assume I know nothing. There was another guy and he was shooting for the first time.

We did shooting from the bench at 21’ to check the guns for accuracy and get used to trigger pulls. Then we did the Weaver stance. Then we did snap shooting and finally double taps. My accuracy has gone way up just after a few hours.”

Fairfax Police Detective Killed, 2 Others Shot

A Fairfax County police detective was killed and two other officers were wounded this afternoon after a gunman opened fire in the parking lot during a shift change at the Sully District police station in Chantilly, law enforcement officials said. A civilian police dispatcher also was wounded.

The gunman came from the woods carrying an automatic or semiautomatic weapon shortly before 4 p.m.

According to sources close to the investigation the dead suspect is an 18-year-old man from Chantilly who has been previously arrested on carjacking charges in Montgomery County.

OK, OK already! They WERE MADE, but I figured that any gun so bad, and so rare really did not need to be here. BUT, this is an information page, and I guess in order to be complete it/they need to be included.

I have shot a few of these guns in .40, and they were as bad as they get. I couldn't get two rounds to feed, and more often than not could not get the FIRST round to feed into the chamber. This is NOT the type of firearm I'd buy unless I were a collector of 10mm pistols and HAD to have one.”

“Why do you think that Mutt? Of all the firearms we have, the Kimber is my favorite, hands down. Mine does not have the wood inlays anymore-rubber grips now, plus laser on the grip.
It is my carry gun - the holster in my purse is sized for the Kimber-size wise it is great - it fits my hands, and is not too big overall. Most of the other handguns we have are too big for me-they are sized for his hands.
And for accuracy? I do my best target shooting with the Kimber - a very good trigger pull.

“I just got an email that had an attached vid of a Glock with a Drum Magazine attached. The dude must have shot over 100 rounds through it in less than 5 seconds.

Why you would need a fully automatic 9mm glock with bulky twin drums and an attached shoulder stock is beyond me. There has to be better weapons out there to get the job done. This contraption looks like the results of a late night drunken bull session.

“I completed my CCW classes last weekend and had a ball. We went to the range at the end for our shooting test. The law states that you need to shoot 50 rounds from a bench to complete the course but my instructor and the sheriff agreed on 150 rounds at least. We shot up 200 in numerous ways.

We even did some practical shooting from behind a barricade. We had to lay our weapon on the floor in front of a mock window frame with an empty mag and 12 rounds loose. We then had to run up to the window, keep looking at the target, load the mag, load the weapon and fire 6 shots while yelling instructions at the target to the effect of, “Do not come in. I have called the police and I am armed and I will shoot you if I have to.”. And of course the whole time the instructor is 3” from your ear screaming at you. It was a great stress simulation. One guy took so long to load he ran out of stuff to yell at the target so he started yelling, “Get out of here! Don’t you touch my TV. I’ll put a mushroom stamp on your fukcing forehead!”.

The training I received was above and beyond what was needed and I’m glad I had it. My instructor said if we buy a gun different than what we trained with for carry he would run us through the course with the new gun and sign us off so we can further show we have been fully trained.”

“Run Two miles with weapon Holstered at your side....finish run and drop for 25 pushups...stand (At the range table) and attempt to put 5 of 10 center of mass.....

Spec Ops we did this with yellow 3X5 cards in the center of the oval...fewest rounds on the card bought the first round at the club after duty hours...

Did I mention tha nowadays I'd be broke and the rest of them would be drunk?...
