He asked to try it, picked it up in a modified chapman with the left index finger going up past the cylinder and wrapping around the pistol. HE squeezed the trigger BOOM....the blast around the cylinder/barrel area cut a huge chunk out of his finger. Now you need to know this guy was a cop for all of five minutes but his DADDY got him the range job after he got suspended for being an idiot.” 9:24:06 AM 5/04/06 “now I can't wait to get that barn in my sights. 25 yds. away from target, in my Chapman stance, giving the target the ole one eye. aarg, I can feel the barns timbers shakin in fear of actually being hit.” 9:26:40 AM 5/04/06 “Stand inside the barn, much better results.” 10:17:05 AM 5/04/06 “ou, ou, good thought. the odds just went up to 75% - 25% of contact. :o)” 1:20:13 PM 5/04/06 “LMAO! XL that reminds me of the time I was shooting my 44 mag Classic Hunter in the winter. The sandbags were frozen (I was sighting in a scope) and I didn't want to scratch the gun so I set my NEW GLOVES on top of the sandbag. Fired a few shots and when I set my piece down I saw my gloves smoking and torn to shreds! LMFAO! Oy!” 1:41:04 PM 5/04/06 “LMAO...been there....this was also the same idiot who picked up one of the officer's backups, dropped the magazine out and began explaining how it would not shoot with the magazine out.....(I know my Smith will not but apparently not this particular make of weapon) so brainiac swings to pistol around and one of my partners hits his hand up and the gun goes off.....” 2:03:16 PM 5/04/06 “Hmmmm, is this guy allowed to breed?” 3:19:21 PM 5/04/06 I HATE Range Masters “Why? Because the range near our house is full of good-ol boys who smell "female" and start humping your leg. Usually Synchro sets me up in the pistol range, with 3-4 guns to shoot, then he goes down to the rifle range to shoot the AR15...and about 2 seconds after he leaves...the creepy old range master seems to apear out of nowhere, trying to give me "lessons". The best was last year-the XD 40 was new, and with my carpal tunnel issues, I couldn't rack the slide-which of course is a no-no. I had it unloaded (I checked!), with no magazine. The rangemaster nazi came over and was yelling at me for it-and picked up the gun-without asking me!-and was talking loudly and waving the gun around..and he couldn't rack it..LMAO!! It was that tight. Served the jerk right! About then Synch showed up and told him to get his hands off of his gun. Hello, what guy doesn't know that the two things you don't touch at a range is another man's gun and his woman? Not that dork. The range masters sit in a tiny unlit booth watching closed circuit tv's. I don't really want to know what they are doing when ladies are shooting. Ewwwwwwww............. Gun Porn: http://www.flickr.com/photos/baystreet/124549330/in/photostream/” 10:29:56 PM 5/04/06 “Sarbar, what is your opinion of the XD40?” 6:52:47 AM 5/05/06 Gun Porn “uh... uh... I think I need some tissues.... LOL!” 7:08:53 AM 5/05/06 “"picked up the gun-without asking me!-and was talking loudly and waving the gun around..and he couldn't rack it.." I found the XD to be a bit tricky at first because it won't rack unless you have the safety on the back of the grip depressed. btw- you said you bought a conversion for the 40 to 9. I had heard you can load 40 ammo into the nine's mag which gives a little more capacity. Is this possible?” 7:13:23 AM 5/05/06 “I tried the Chapman stance yesterday. I set up a can at 25 yds and on the first shot hit it dead center. (patting self on back). The next four shots just scared the earthworms. Went back to my way of shooting and hit the can once out of five shots. Again the worms were running for their lives. So I have a 20% chance of actually hitting what I'm shooting at. Need lots more practice.” 8:12:12 AM 5/05/06 “For the most part neither of us have liked the XD 40, but as converted to a 9 it is great. Oddly though, I love the XD 9, and he loves the XD 9 and 45..he hasn't let me touch the 45 yet :-( It is still his new toy...sigh!” 10:09:45 AM 5/05/06 “I went out with a buddy of mine who is a competitive pistol shooter and instructor. I have always considered myself pretty good with a pistol but after spending a couple of hours with an instructor I can see the difference. My hope was that he could undo any of the bad habits I had picked up over the years so I just told him to treat me like a noob and assume I know nothing. There was another guy and he was shooting for the first time. We did shooting from the bench at 21’ to check the guns for accuracy and get used to trigger pulls. Then we did the Weaver stance. Then we did snap shooting and finally double taps. My accuracy has gone way up just after a few hours.” 4:22:47 PM 5/08/06 “well, apparently gremlin is one short and bm is about to buy one” 5:33:08 PM 5/08/06 “How's the XD trigger? Better than a glock I hope.” 5:50:55 PM 5/08/06 “It feels a little heavy but once I got used to it it was fine.” 6:21:13 PM 5/08/06 “I see no reason to, CB. developing story: Fairfax Police Detective Killed, 2 Others Shot By Tom Jackman and Lisa Rein Washington Post Staff Writers Monday, May 8, 2006; 8:07 PM A Fairfax County police detective was killed and two other officers were wounded this afternoon after a gunman opened fire in the parking lot during a shift change at the Sully District police station in Chantilly, law enforcement officials said. A civilian police dispatcher also was wounded. The gunman came from the woods carrying an automatic or semiautomatic weapon shortly before 4 p.m. According to sources close to the investigation the dead suspect is an 18-year-old man from Chantilly who has been previously arrested on carjacking charges in Montgomery County. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/05/08/AR2006050800968_pf.html” 7:36:09 PM 5/08/06 “And 3 shots just went off in our neighborhood. Dani & both hit the floor at the same time. Never had to do that before. So........DNB, I would say gun control doesn't exist in DC.” 9:01:03 PM 5/08/06 “"So........DNB, I would say gun control doesn't exist in DC.” Oh it exists. It just doesn't work. LOL! The baddest part is the ones it harms the most are the ones who need it the most. The poor minoities in the bad sections of town. Those honest citizans are the ones who can benifit from the ownership of a gun more than the white suburbanites.” 7:29:43 AM 5/09/06 “Gun Control only controls that criminals and cops have firearms - leaving citizens who can benefit from them unprotected. I am glad that I live in a state that has protection for gun owners. And that I do not live in a state where I am expected to flee before I can protect myself. Ms. Kimber says hello: ”8:44:48 AM 5/09/06 “mmmmm kimber.” 4:04:34 AM 5/10/06 “Gimmee 2 senators & 2 Reps, full vote, and I'll vote for gun ownership.” 5:55:00 AM 5/10/06 “Oh those Kimbers are sinfully wonderful! I got to shoot a compact 45 almost like that last weekend. Handles great.” 7:07:03 AM 5/10/06 “Years ago I bought A Parker .45 from Wyoming Arms...now defunct and I think Laser Aim took them over. The problem is that the gun keeps stovepipe jamming on recoil. Wondering if anyone knows about these weapons I am thinking of letting a gun smith tinker with it...or maybe see if someone needs it for parts.” 7:17:56 AM 5/10/06 Wyoming Arms..what one gun buff says: “Wyoming/Parker Arms ------DISCONTINUED OK, OK already! They WERE MADE, but I figured that any gun so bad, and so rare really did not need to be here. BUT, this is an information page, and I guess in order to be complete it/they need to be included. I have shot a few of these guns in .40, and they were as bad as they get. I couldn't get two rounds to feed, and more often than not could not get the FIRST round to feed into the chamber. This is NOT the type of firearm I'd buy unless I were a collector of 10mm pistols and HAD to have one.” 7:51:45 AM 5/10/06 “Are they as bad as the Lammas? LOL!” 7:55:07 AM 5/10/06 “For what you get, kimbers are overpriced.” 8:08:19 AM 5/10/06 “Why do you think that Mutt? Of all the firearms we have, the Kimber is my favorite, hands down. Mine does not have the wood inlays anymore-rubber grips now, plus laser on the grip. It is my carry gun - the holster in my purse is sized for the Kimber-size wise it is great - it fits my hands, and is not too big overall. Most of the other handguns we have are too big for me-they are sized for his hands. And for accuracy? I do my best target shooting with the Kimber - a very good trigger pull. Yes, it was a costly gun, but I feel it was worth it. She is a beauty to hold and to shoot.” 9:11:47 AM 5/10/06 “Troll I agree...for the first few months the weapon worked okay...now it is that weapon I may give up for a criminal to steal. Heck nothing better than arming them with something that won't work. LOL....I actually had a kid try and load 32 auto rounds into a >38 special......he was going to take on the cops...” 9:14:42 AM 5/10/06 “"She is a beauty to hold and to shoot.” Mmmm, I love it when ya talk all dirty to us. LOL! I have huge dickbeaters and that compact was still great in the hands. I don't like small guns because it feels like I'm shooting a 25 auto.” 9:25:09 AM 5/10/06 “Oh it was just a slight troll, sarbar1. Sorry. Kimbers are fine. There are certainly more expensive models. I'm just a little leary of buying such an expensive 1911 that may or may not turn out to be reliable. Not that I've done so, but I think I'd go with building up a cheaper one. But, I'm not an expert on this.” 9:27:13 AM 5/10/06 “I know...when he pad 1K for that Kimber I about hurled ;-) But, it was worth it-with no issues to date with it. On the other hand, the XD series are much more affordable, and are also great handguns!” 9:58:00 AM 5/10/06 “1K? Choke...sputter, spyut... Hard to put a price on personal protection. I think my buddy's is a Springfield Armory compact he paid $750 for. Still too rich for my blood.” 10:05:55 AM 5/10/06 “Stove-pipe jams (failure to feed) can usually be solved with a throat-ramp grinding with a Dremo tool à la .45 ACP to sport bullets.” 1:20:50 PM 5/10/06 “THanks Gremlin...will see if that helps. I would love to get it working, it is a fun pistol (albeit expensive) to shoot. When it shot well I could hit center of mass at 50feet 9 out of 10 times.” 1:25:16 PM 5/10/06 “The current president of our Koi club has a handgun that is just under 50 caliber, I believe. Whatever it is it's freakin' huge and I don't know if he's even shot the thing before. It stays locked in a gun safe right to the cage of Casper the white ferret.” 1:48:10 PM 5/10/06 Sight Modification for the HOOD! “ ![]() Gotta keep the GB's hittin' the mark, ya dig?” 3:12:36 PM 5/10/06 Btw..guys “If you have ladies who would love a neat gift..go here: http://www.coronadoleather.com/default.aspx?n=458859 My man got me this purse for Christmas this year: ![]() This is the detail on it: ”5:31:21 PM 5/10/06 “SuperT, that made my day. I was looking at it thinking, WTF? and then I saw the sights were on the side of the slide. Duh!” 6:20:07 PM 5/10/06 “Top Ten Reasons Why Men Prefer Guns Over Women #10. You can easily trade an old 44 for a new 22. #9. You can keep one gun at home and have another for when you're on the road. #8. If you admire a friend's gun and tell him so, he will probably let you try it out a few times. #7. Your primary gun doesn't mind if you keep another gun for a backup. #6. Your gun will stay with you even if you run out of ammo. #5. A gun doesn't take up a lot of closet space. #4. Guns function normally every day of the month. #3. A gun doesn't ask , "Do these new grips make me look fat?" #2. A gun doesn't mind if you go to sleep after you use it. And the number one reason: #1. YOU CAN BUY A SILENCER FOR A GUN” 7:58:31 AM 5/11/06 “I just got an email that had an attached vid of a Glock with a Drum Magazine attached. The dude must have shot over 100 rounds through it in less than 5 seconds. Why you would need a fully automatic 9mm glock with bulky twin drums and an attached shoulder stock is beyond me. There has to be better weapons out there to get the job done. This contraption looks like the results of a late night drunken bull session. I couldn't find a link to it online and I am too lazy to upload it anywhere.” 7:59:25 AM 5/26/06 “I saw something similar, although in the video I saw the dude ran several 50(?) round mags through it before the drum. Pretty cool - I guess the glock handles overheating pretty well.” 8:07:26 AM 5/26/06 “i found a link . I didn't count the rounds. It may have been less than 100. http://www.shadowedsoul.com/forums/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=2710&cat=all&si=glock The not overheating thing was what surprised me too. last edited: 5/26/06 8:10:08 AM” 8:09:18 AM 5/26/06 “Yep, that was the video I saw, but it truncated the first half. He ran several large cap mags through it before the drum. That'd be a lot of fun!” 8:13:43 AM 5/26/06 “I think it's kind of like when Dodge built the Tomahawk... ![]() Companies like to build over the top versions of their product just to show what they are capable of. Someone sees this gun and says, "Damn! No overheating? I guess the standard 17 can handle anything. I'm buying one.".” 8:16:05 AM 5/26/06 “I figured it was during a late night poker game. One guys says he's gonna configure his glock in full auto, another says he is going to fit his with a 50 round mag, the last guy just sits back with a maniacal grin on his face and starts planning his drum magazine scheme.” 8:20:49 AM 5/26/06 “I completed my CCW classes last weekend and had a ball. We went to the range at the end for our shooting test. The law states that you need to shoot 50 rounds from a bench to complete the course but my instructor and the sheriff agreed on 150 rounds at least. We shot up 200 in numerous ways. We even did some practical shooting from behind a barricade. We had to lay our weapon on the floor in front of a mock window frame with an empty mag and 12 rounds loose. We then had to run up to the window, keep looking at the target, load the mag, load the weapon and fire 6 shots while yelling instructions at the target to the effect of, “Do not come in. I have called the police and I am armed and I will shoot you if I have to.”. And of course the whole time the instructor is 3” from your ear screaming at you. It was a great stress simulation. One guy took so long to load he ran out of stuff to yell at the target so he started yelling, “Get out of here! Don’t you touch my TV. I’ll put a mushroom stamp on your fukcing forehead!”. The training I received was above and beyond what was needed and I’m glad I had it. My instructor said if we buy a gun different than what we trained with for carry he would run us through the course with the new gun and sign us off so we can further show we have been fully trained.” 8:23:09 AM 5/26/06 Stress Fire.... “Run Two miles with weapon Holstered at your side....finish run and drop for 25 pushups...stand (At the range table) and attempt to put 5 of 10 center of mass..... Spec Ops we did this with yellow 3X5 cards in the center of the oval...fewest rounds on the card bought the first round at the club after duty hours... Did I mention tha nowadays I'd be broke and the rest of them would be drunk?... God I'm old and outa shape....Groan.... last edited: 5/26/06 12:39:30 PM” 12:37:58 PM 5/26/06 “DNB do you also teach, or are you some type of LEO, or is it all personal? What course were you taking? I am interested in taking some courses in practical defense situations. You know the saying "shoot more, shoot more often"...” 12:42:07 PM 5/26/06 Jump to Page << prev
