“ST I wish we could cruise down to your neck of the woods for some ammo (and R&R) its crazy up here. I called 12 shops tonite and found ZERO 9mm rounds. The range we shoot has 13 boxes for range use only one per customer. Its absolutely surreal. I'd like to get enough so sass can shoot with some regularity but its looking bleak for now.

my state command gave me a brand new sidearm this wknd. Lots of fun to shoot a new wpn for sure.Especially when they provide the lead.

Yeah you will like the XDM in 9...recoil is virtually non-existent. Did you get the stainless or all black slide? I got the all black to save a bit of $. Only got about 150 rounds through it so far, but flawless as expected.”

Treebait, this model has the "match grade" barrel and trigger for competition. I also did not like he glock, but the H & k p30 was a dream. Unfortunately the price tag matched how nice it was. This Springfield was very close and actually comes with a ton of nice accessories and extra magazines. It also had three different grip backstraps for different sized hands. It comes apart super easy and goes back together easier.”

“I stopped last night and there were NO 9mm anywhere. I was able to find a couple boxes of 40s for $13 a box though. I'm thinking I may swing by Cabelas on the way and see if they have anything.”

“One of the issues DH is that ammunition mfgs only make ammo on a rotation. The will make one caliber then retool and make another etc.. for example one of the larger companies (maybe federal) only makes .380 ammo every 6 months. The other issue is the very likely potential of new wpns bans/restrictions. Since outright bans are so politically unpopular there has been talk of significant tax hikes on ammunition and magazines. As sass mentioned primers are in short supply so they are being shifted to military/police production (9mm is the primary military pistol caliber). Couple this with a bad economy (at least regionally) and people get nervous.

Crime in my area has increased quite a bit so its a bigger concern especially with my upcoming move.

I'd like to get 1000rds of 9mm. It sounds like a ton but if you break it down its not. If you shoot once a month (not nearly often enough to stay proficient) and you shoot 100rds (we shot 50 last time when she was test firing in about 20 minutes) each month thats enough for 10 months.”
