Here our concern is with the tactic of taking; how the Have-Nots can take power away from the Haves." p.126 Always remember the first rule of power tactics (pps.127-134): 1. "Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have." 2. "Never go outside the expertise of your people. When an action or tactic is outside the experience of the people, the result is confusion, fear and retreat.... [and] the collapse of communication. 3. "Whenever possible, go outside the expertise of the enemy. Look for ways to increase insecurity, anxiety and uncertainty. (This happens all the time. Watch how many organizations under attack are blind-sided by seemingly irrelevant arguments that they are then forced to address.) 4. "Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules. You can kill them with this, for they can no more obey their own rules than the Christian church can live up to Christianity." 5. "Ridicule is man's most potent weapon. It is almost impossible to counteract ridicule. Also it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage." 6. "A good tactic is one your people enjoy." 7. "A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag. Man can sustain militant interest in any issue for only a limited time...." 8. "Keep the pressure on, with different tactics and actions, and utilize all events of the period for your purpose." 9. "The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself." 10. "The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition. It is this unceasing pressure that results in the reactions from the opposition that are essential for the success of the campaign." 11. "If you push a negative hard and deep enough, it will break through into its counterside... every positive has its negative." 12. "The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative." 13. Pick the target, freeze it, ersonalize it, and polarize it. In conflict tactics there are certain rules that [should be regarded] as universalities. One is that the opposition must be singled out as the target and 'frozen.'... "...any target can always say, 'Why do you center on me when there are others to blame as well?' When your 'freeze the target,' you disregard these [rational but distracting] arguments.... Then, as you zero in and freeze your target and carry out your attack, all the 'others' come out of the woodwork very soon. They become visible by their support of the target...'” 6:30:20 AM 3/12/10 “oops ”6:35:14 AM 3/12/10 “Burglary Suspect Shot By Resident http://www.wjhg.com/news/headlines/88749397.html?ref=397 MARIANNA, FL--- A man is in jail for home burglary charges, but before ending up in jail he was shot by the resident. According to the Marianna Police Department Investigators, their suspect Ben Thomas was breaking into a home Friday night off Myles Street in Marianna. They say Thomas was shot in the foot by the resident, but he somehow managed to run away. Investigators say they later caught up with him in front of a home off Old Cottondale Road. Thomas was taken to Jackson Hospital, but later transported by Police to the Jackson County Jail.” 9:24:08 PM 3/22/10 Laser sights? “Anybody have any experience with them on a handgun---either built into the grip or as an attachment? Pros? Cons?” 8:27:03 AM 4/15/10 “They make great cat toys. ;D” 9:06:12 AM 4/15/10 “Play with them with the gun unloaded please. ;-)” 9:11:55 AM 4/15/10 “Where's the fun in that?” 9:15:27 AM 4/15/10 “Ha! Reminds me of a somewhat related story......my cousin's wife had a cat that he absolutely HATED. One day curiousity almost killed it: my cousin was in his backyard excavating (by hand) a big piece of old concrete......he just managed to pry it up out of the ground and was struggling to keep it raised up until he could jam a 2X4 under it when the cat strolled up and stuck its head under the heavy concrete chunk just to look and see what was going on down in the hole. My cousin started laughing so hard at the opportunity that presented itself that he almost DID drop the piece.” 9:32:08 AM 4/15/10 “Had an experience way back in college. I had a job in the television and radio studios. For one class, students get to check out remote TV camera equip. to shoot a music video. A buddy in the class calls me at 11 at night and askes to come by his house because he is having trouble with the camera. I walk downstairs and have 15 lazer sights pointing at various parts of my body. Little did I know, I was part of the video and they captured it all on tape. Bunch of thugs drinking 40's having fun with the skinny white kid. They had sounds rolling which turned out hillerous. I told all these guys (in my best ghetto slang) to knock the #&%!$ off or I will pull my strap and stick and move on them.” 9:39:13 AM 4/15/10 “I prefer the IR Sights...but you need NVG's to see the dots on the target...with IR sights the bad guy doesn't know you have lazed him until the round strikes... As for the visible spectrum lasers, go for the Green...they are much more visible, especially in bright sunlight.” 11:02:29 AM 4/15/10 “IMO, laser sights and those (stupid) flashlights attached to weapons make you a great target. Stick with eyesight that is attuned to the dark and spray any light that some arsehole is shining on you. Just my ,02 CAD (now worth 0,03 USD, BTW)” 12:38:39 PM 4/15/10 “This -place is getting civil, has more naked threads than gun threads.” 1:21:43 PM 4/15/10 “I like my ANPVS4.....” 1:24:31 PM 4/15/10 “Dad just brought me a light 20 gauge shot-gun, light but only single shot, for Mr Wily Coyote. A Pomba with the longer barrel.” 5:57:12 PM 4/15/10 “The Gun is Civilization by Maj. L. Caudill USMC (Ret) Human beings only have two ways to deal with one another: reason and force. If you want me to do something for you, you have a choice of either convincing me via argument, or force me to do your bidding under threat of force. Every human interaction falls into one of those two categories, without exception. Reason or force, that's it. In a truly moral and civilized society, people exclusively interact through persuasion. Force has no place as a valid method of social interaction, and the only thing that removes force from the menu is the personal firearm, as paradoxical as it may sound to some. When I carry a gun, you cannot deal with me by force. You have to use reason and try to persuade me, because I have a way to negate your threat or employment of force. The gun is the only personal weapon that puts a 100-pound woman on equal footing with a 220-pound mugger, a 75-year old retiree on equal footing with a 19-year old gang banger, and a single guy on equal footing with a carload of drunk guys with baseball bats. The gun removes the disparity in physical strength, size, or numbers between a potential attacker and a defender. There are plenty of people who consider the gun as the source of bad force equations. These are the people who think that we'd be more civilized if all guns were removed from society, because a firearm makes it easier for a [armed] mugger to do his job. That, of course, is only true if the mugger's potential victims are mostly disarmed either by choice or by legislative fiat--it has no validity when most of a mugger's potential marks are armed. People who argue for the banning of arms ask for automatic rule by the young, the strong, and the many, and that's the exact opposite of a civilized society. A mugger, even an armed one, can only make a successful living in a society where the state has granted him a force monopoly. Then there's the argument that the gun makes confrontations lethal that otherwise would only result in injury. This argument is fallacious in several ways. Without guns involved, confrontations are won by the physically superior party inflicting overwhelming injury on the loser. People who think that fists, bats, sticks, or stones don't constitute lethal force watch too much TV, where people take beatings and come out of it with a bloody lip at worst. The fact that the gun makes lethal force easier works solely in favor of the weaker defender, not the stronger attacker. If both are armed, the field is level. The gun is the only weapon that's as lethal in the hands of an octogenarian as it is in the hands of a weight lifter. It simply wouldn't work as well as a force equalizer if it wasn't both lethal and easily employable. When I carry a gun, I don't do so because I am looking for a fight, but because I'm looking to be left alone. The gun at my side means that I cannot be forced, only persuaded. I don't carry it because I'm afraid, but because it enables me to be unafraid. It doesn't limit the actions of those who would interact with me through reason, only the actions of those who would do so by force. It removes force from the equation... and that's why carrying a gun is a civilized act. By Maj. L. Caudill USMC (Ret) So the greatest civilization is one where all citizens are equally armed and can only be persuaded, never forced.” 8:29:03 AM 4/27/10 “equally armed? where did you see a reference to that in his words?” 8:38:28 AM 4/27/10 “windigrrl, I know those weren't your words, but I wonder who added that tidbit at the end and what they based it on.” 8:43:15 AM 4/27/10 “I don't carry it because I'm afraid, but because it enables me to be unafraid. Uh huh.....” 8:45:57 AM 4/27/10 “Do they file down the sights before they have sex with their gun collection?” 8:48:02 AM 4/27/10 “Perhaps it is advantageous to be gap-toothed.” 8:51:45 AM 4/27/10 “Michael Moore?” 8:54:58 AM 4/27/10 “I don't carry it because I'm afraid, but because it enables me to be unafraid. Uh huh..... That is kind of silly. Carrying a pistol is far from a guarantee of threat neutralization. Pistols suck actually.” 8:58:59 AM 4/27/10 ““Do they file down the sights before they have sex with their gun collection? Pistols suck actually. Someone prefers the loooooooooooooong gun. Ha ha ha ha ha” 9:03:44 AM 4/27/10 Jump to Page << prev
