Asolo 520 GTX

“Alright just bought these boots and I am wearing them around the office on the carpet. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with them good or bad before I wore them out on the street.”

“Heheh, LT I wore my boots to and from work for a month. It was around Christmas time and we were going to some parties and all I wanted was my new BOOTS.

Next year I told treebeard that im wearing my hiking boots at the formal!!”

“I have the Asolo Fusion 95 GTX boots and haven't had any problems with them.”

“I have had a pair of the 535's for years and love them. I know these are different models, but they seem very simular when put side by side. If they are anything like the 535's, you will love them. It took me a little while to break them in but after this happened, they feel great. My only problem so far has been that I blistered my heels 2 weeks ago while hiking in the Huron National Forest in Michigan. This has never happened before with these boots. Overall though, I like them.”

“I hope these work for me. My old boots, I bought them last fall, just were not up to the task of carrying me and my pack. They were streching and my foot was just sliding around inside. I have spent several hours the past few days at both of the outfitters near me trying on boots. These fit the best and hopefully will give me more support.

“Wounded Knee, the 520's are the new Goretex lined version of the 535's, the only thing that concerned me was the lack of a toe guard.”

“I've had a pair of the 520 GTXs for about 5 years now and they're still holding up well, and believe me, I've beaten the tar out of them. Although I wear more lighterweight shoes now, I still wear them hiking occasionally when I know I'll need sturdy footing and good ankle support. I did have them leak where the tongue is attached down by the toes, but seam sealer did the trick. I suggest you seal the seams down by the toe in the tongue area and up the sides beside the lace eyelets, not to make them waterproof, but to keep them from wearing down from abrasion and eventually breaking (that's what happened to mine), it'll definitly extend the life of the stitching. You won't regret getting them.”

The local outdoor shop expert tried to fit me with a boot 1 1/2 sizes larger than my foot. He was an idiot.

They looked pretty stout, but I went back to Vasques.”

“Wow bacpac you must have really wide feet. I thought I had wide feet and they fit just fine.

Glad you like them Buddur, I hope I like mine. I have a pair of Vasque IBEX GTX's that I was turning into mush. 215lb + 40lb pack they just were not cutting it.”

My bunions look like golf balls and I don't run very fast, but I can still walk.”

“Those boots are the only boots i wear. I'm on my second set in 5 years only because my feet decided to grow another half size a few years back. I've put them through hell and back and they still hold up. Best boots on the market IMHO.”
