Backpack to lend?View MessagesViewing posts 1 to 6 of 6 messages posted.
“I think I have a friend talked into trying backpacking for a couple nights out over Memorial Day... on some forest land, SE MN. He is totally new to it. Just wondered if anyone has a backpack to lend for the expedition. It might seem like a weird request, but there's nowhere around here close by to rent one. OK, we could maybe get one at Cabela's to try -- it's close -- but what of returning if it doesn't fit or gets muddy, etc? He is tall and thin. I would guess long torso... if that helps in fitting a bag. I also hate to go buy a bag without trying this cuz he has some shoulder/neck/back problems from an accident. Maybe a backpack won't work at all! I've got 2 sleeping bags and a tent, so no biggy there. If anyone has a bag they think might work, I'd be more than happy to pay shipping and "rental." lol. Thanks!!” 7:38:21 AM 5/14/03 lizs “I'm short and stout with an external frame pack (old school--but it fits and rides nice) so probably can't help. Did you check at UW-LaCrosse for a rental? Used to be that UW student unions would rent gear. You might be able to bribe a student to rent it for you. Lots of luck.” 8:51:52 AM 5/14/03 “ok I have a good one. email me please.” 8:55:34 AM 5/14/03 “you have mail, mapleleaf. Thanks!” 11:12:25 PM 5/14/03 lizs “Hope Maple's pack works. "Wifey" already loaned her pack to her sister.” 11:27:22 PM 5/14/03 “So ya saying your wife is tall and skinny, stumprider? lol hmmmm... maple must actually be working today.. mapleleaf, mapleleaf, you have mail I need to get a photo on a country road I go by a couple times a week... Mapleleaf Road or Drive or something. :-)” 9:27:59 AM 5/15/03
