I look at hundreds of resumes each year. An Eagle Scout always goes to the top of the list.

Congrats IT!
As a former Scoutmaster & now a Venturing Crew leader, I know how much perseverence & work it takes to get there. You should be very proud of your accomplishment.

If any non-scouters here don't know the company Ice Tea now keeps, here's a little overview:

What was your Eagle project?
(Isn't a project required?)

There's a shelter along the Prividence Canyon Trail, GA, that was built by a scout as his Eagle project.

One of my regrets is I never made Eagle. After I made Life other interests (girls, sports, etc) pulled me away. I had daughters so never got back into Scouting until I was on the volunteer staff at the last two Jamborees in Va. Now that's an awesome experience! Looking forward to 2005.

My Confession
I was the world's most pathetic Boy Scout. I never even made Tenderfoot. Yes, you read that right, when I was in, you had to earn Tenderfoot. It took two Skill badges and one Merit badge. I did the stuff for the Skill badges, but was never awarded them. I think I was in for about two years then got out because I just felt like I didn't belong. Pathetic.

Anyway, I still had a few good times, so it wasn't a complete loss, plus it was my introduction to backpacking. I mostly just wish I had been a little more dedicated.

Not to pick on bitpusher but…

When I was in scouts it was considered a little nerdy and uncool. So you weren’t even up to that?

No wonder you went into computers.

I had no motivation to excel whatsoever, plus I was really more into band and orchestra than Scouting. Plus, I joined late, so the guys my age were already several steps ahead of me, since they had already been in Scouts a few years. It was a small troop, there weren't any other Scouts at my level, yada yada yada. To be honest, I didn't really want to join, I was pressured into it. So it's no wonder I wasn't any good at Scouting.

eagle bio
Biography:
My adventure in scouting started when I was in 2nd grade, 1995. Our present scoutmaster visited our classroom, asked the ladies to be excused, and spoke to us about scouting. The following week I joined Cub Scouts; Pack5. By 1997 I earned the Arrow of Light Award, the highest award bestowed upon a cub scout, and the Weblos badge. At the start of the next scouting season, I would be a Boy Scout and set my eyes on the coveted Eagle Scout Award. During 1997, I achieved rank of tenderfoot, assistant patrol leader, and attended summer camp at Camp NoBeBoSco. By 1998, I was a 1st class scout and camped at NoBeBoSco, Alpine and a BSA Catholic retreat. I accelerated my scouting experiences during 1998-1999 to include a canoe trek through the Adirondacks out of Rollins Pond High Adventure Base Camp and a counselor in training at Camp NoBeBoSco. In the summer of 2000, I prepared for a trek through New Mexico with the Philmont High Adventure Camp. I also was employed as a counselor at Camp NoBeBoSco. Here I earned the staff member of the week award. I continued to work towards my Eagle Award to present day.

Eagle Project
I decided to paint the 2 main corridors of Holy Trinity Convent, which were in desperate need of maintenance. This was a large-scale project that included painting, chipping away old paint, spackling, sanding, and priming totaling 200 hours of work.
